Skywatch Friday - Birds

A simple photo of skywatch today, showing some birds circling above me. Not sure what type of birds are they, they are actually very far from me but I zoomed on them while photographing them.

For other sky watchers, please hop over to Skywatch blog.

Very interesting and abstract. They look like pepper on grey table spread.

maybe too far to distinguish what are those, but it's certainly showing a sign of not a good weather.

happy weekend and happy skywatching!

Wow, so many of them. I suppose the photo was taken in S'pore or nearby. If the birds were gliding on the wind current (ie. not so much wing-flapping), then they are probably either one of these 2 native/SE Asian birds of prey: Haliastur indus (Brahminy Kite) or Haliaeetus leucogaster (White-bellied Sea Eagle).

Your zoom is not close enough & the birds are under-exposed in the photo, so it is not possible to tell the exact species -- unless you recall by sight the colour of the birds' underside. As its common name implies, Haliaeetus leucogaster has much more white on its belly.
