My World - Resort World - Malaysia Food Street

Craving for some malaysian food? Now we dont have to travel long distance to Malaysia for malaysian food. Right in our backyard on Sentosa, Resort World had a Malaysian Food Street,a food court that houses about 17 stalls that sell authentic Malaysian hawker fare at Resorts World Sentosa.

To enter inside the food street, we need to queue to go in but the queue was a moving queue and very fast, dont have to wait very long to enter the food street but ordering the food and waiting for the food you need to be patient hahaha. You need to wait about 30 mins to one hour for your food especially so if the stall is popular.

Lots of seats right inside the food court, so no worry about not getting the seats. It was very well organised, they dont allowed too many people to enter at one time. This way, you wont have people standing around you trying to rush you to finish your food so that they can take over your seats.

Most of the 17 stalls have long queues, I guess cause it was because of the Chinese New Year Period and also the food court was newly opened.

I had this Malacca Chicken Rice Balls with chicken meat, waited more than half an hour for my food.

My sis had this Klang Bak Kut Teh (Pork Ribs Soup)

Ice Kachang for dessert

There's also a pastry shop selling egg tarts and other malaysian famous pastries.

I definitely will go back again to try other food.

Resort World Singapore

I had to walk past this passageway from the basement of Resort World to the Universal Studio. The passageway looked so beautiful. I had to take a short video to show you its beauty.

I dont have the time to venture into any of the hotels cause I spend the whole day at the theme park. Perhaps next time I will dine in one of the hotels.
This brings me to the last posting of Resort World Singapore.

Resort World SIngapore - Casino

The Casino is one of the main attraction of Resort World Singapore.

The ceiling above the casino's entrance. It looked like a spider web. I wondered if it has anything to do with fengshui.

At the basement of the resort world is the carpark for cars, coaches, taxi, public bus, etc. Those who live in neighbouring country like Malaysia can visit the resort world easily because there are many different coach packages to bring them to the resort. Most visit the resort for the casinos but there are many like me who visit the theme park, shopping, hotels, etc.
Long queues of taxi waiting for customers at the resorts. You need to pay an additional $3 surcharge for the taxi.

Tourists and foreigners get to visit the Casino free of charge while Singaporeans and permanent residents need to pay a levy of $100 per day or annual fee of $2000.

A performance at the resort.

Skywatch Friday - Resort World Singapore in Sentosa

Resort World Singapore on Sentosa Island is an intergrated resort with a casino, a theme park (Universal Studio), a musuem (not open yet), a Marine Life Park which includes the world's largest oceanarium (not open yet) and a few hotels.

The Maritime Xperiential Museum will house a 360-degree multimedia theatre where visitors can trace the history of the maritime Silk Route from the 9th to the 19th century. It will become the permanent home of the Jewel of Muscat. It is set to open in 2011.

The Marine Life Park will be the world's largest oceanarium, holding more than 20 million gallons of salt water habitats. It will be home to over 700,000 fish of various sizes and colours inside a 6.6 million gallon lagoon. While originally planned to include whale sharks, the controversial plan was eventually dropped. It is set to open in late 2011

My World Tuesday - Resort World Singapore - Candy

This is the candy shop outside the Universal Studio Singapore. You dont have to pay any admission tickets to walk around this area. Beside the Candy shop, there are many restaurants, eateries, pubs, etc.

This is part of the Resort World Singapore in Sentosa.

You can take photos in here but not inside the candy shop. I thought the candies looked so real and super cute.

The prices of the candies are reasonable and affordable and there are so many different types to choose from. I bought some home too.

I thought these M&M looked so super cute.

This huge Bottle of Hershey is from another shop. You could get so many different of chocolates in here too. Of course, I had to get some chocolates too, my family's favourites. :)

View of Resort World Sentosa

View of Resort World Sentosa from my ferry on the way to Batam.
Hard Rock Hotel, Sentosa
Part of Universal Studio, construction still going on.

The above photo is that of Labrador Park which is part of Singapore which is connected to the whole island of Singapore. It was a former defence battery and we still can see traces of the fort.

You can read the history of Labrador Park from Infopedia.

According to Legend, it was believed there was an undersea tunnel between Labrador Park and Sentosa but no one can verify that. There was a research on the tunnel which shows a collapsed undersea tunnel about 20 metres underground. The tunnel was thought to allow the british soldiers easy access between islands.

One day, I will visit Labrador Park and take more photos of the park. Geez, Singapore is so small but there are so many places I have yet visited ...lol

Skywatch Friday - Integrated Resort

There are so many cranes in Marina. This is where the integrated resort will be in Marina.

Finally we get to see the almost completed towers of the integrated resort.

There are three towers altogether and they would be linked on the roof top by a beautiful garden with water features.

The integrated resort in Marina will be a world class luxury resort featuring state-of-the art convention and exhibition and of course comes with a casino. To prevent locals from gambling so easily, an entrance fee of about $100 will be imposed and family members can ban their loved ones from gambling. I dont look forward to the casino but rather the chance for photography of the beautiful constructed resort and enjoy fine dining in the beautiful hotels. :) You can read more about the resort in their official website.

A short video showing the numerous cranes.
