Sentosa - Resort World

We could see many flags flying high on Sentosa cause we just celebratef our National Day on 9th August.

Flags hanging from the hotel's balconies on Sentosa.

Favourite spot on Sentosa for taking photo with the Singapore Flag.

But a must go for tourist must be the Casino. Tourists go in free while locals have to pay an entry fee of $100.

Singaporeans need to use their Identity Card to gain entry to the Casino and also to pay an entry fee of $100.

I rather use the $100 for better use cause I dont know how to gamble, I always donate to the jackpot machine lol.

Saw these decorations at the atrium of Resort World.

OMG, even the bakery outside the Casino baked their breads/cakes associated with gambling.

Resort World SIngapore - Casino

The Casino is one of the main attraction of Resort World Singapore.

The ceiling above the casino's entrance. It looked like a spider web. I wondered if it has anything to do with fengshui.

At the basement of the resort world is the carpark for cars, coaches, taxi, public bus, etc. Those who live in neighbouring country like Malaysia can visit the resort world easily because there are many different coach packages to bring them to the resort. Most visit the resort for the casinos but there are many like me who visit the theme park, shopping, hotels, etc.
Long queues of taxi waiting for customers at the resorts. You need to pay an additional $3 surcharge for the taxi.

Tourists and foreigners get to visit the Casino free of charge while Singaporeans and permanent residents need to pay a levy of $100 per day or annual fee of $2000.

A performance at the resort.

Marina Bay Sands - Casino

Inside at a corner of the The Shoppes of Marina Bay Sands is the Casino.

The casino is very popular with many. Foreigners can go in free of charge to gamble while Singaporeans need to pay a levy of $100 to enter (valid for 24 hours) or $2000 for annual entry levy. Those under 21 are not allowed to enter.

Security is tight and anxious at the entrance of the Casino. If any Singaporeans managed to sneak in without paying the levy, the casino has to pay a fine.

I did not pay $100 just to enter and have a look and neither did I wanted to gamble. Even when I was overseas, I dont have any interest to gamble. The most I did was to donate money at the jackpot slot machines....lol.

Marina Bay Sands Casino at Marina South

If you think the above construction looked ugly in Singapore River. I agreed too. It spoilt the view of the financial district buildings. But in a few years it would looked pretty.

Many colourful cranes - so much construction going along Singapore River.

All the digging and banging are for the future Sands Casino in Marina Bay. It would be the first casino to be allowed on Singapore, the other casino will be at Sentosa.

The Marina Bay Sands is Singapore's first casino developed by Las Vegas Sands at Marina South and expected to be completed in 2009. To see how the casino looked like when completed, click here.

The second casino being constructed is in Sentosa. See my earlier post.

Tourists and foreigners get to gamble free in the casino while Singaporean needed to pay an entrance fee of S$100 or $2000 annual fee to gamble in the casino. Families can banned their family members from gambling in the casinos.

Integrated Resort, Sentosa, Singapore

SENTOSA OLD FERRY TERMINAL...............NOW YOU SEE IT................

NOW YOU DONT....................
Sentosa old ferry terminal is gone, demolished and make way for the much talked about Resorts World at Sentosa . The integrated resort will have hotels, water park, maritime museum, etc and of course the Casino and Universal Studio. It will be completed in a few years time. The other integrated resort will be at Marina.
I am looking forward to them, now I dont have to travel to USA to visit Universal Studio, and I think Singapore will be a more exciting place to visit for tourists.
Not to worry that the sea in front of Vivo City will be polluted with rubbish. The boat man above is there to take care of the cleaniness.
