Skywatch Friday - Singapore Skyline
Looking at Singapore skyline from Marina Boulevard. Usually we will look at the skyline from Esplanade or Marina Bay Sands Hotel so this time I take a reverse view of the skyline. The above photo where two tortoise like shells is the Esplanade (theatre).
The 3.5km waterfront promenade provides a continuous route linking the Marina Centre, Collyer Quay and Bayfront areas.
Taking a stroll from Marina Bay Sands towards Marina Boulevard via the Marina Waterfront. Best to walk in the evening or night where the weather is cooler.
‘Mist Walk’ – a 250-m long sculptural, tubular stainless steel structure that sprays clouds of mist to reduce ambient temperature and provide a cooling experience in the day. Note in the above photo, clouds of mist spraying out.
View of uncompleted office buildings at Marina Boulevard. This is the new financial district of Singapore. There's also condominium in here and they are really costly. Some of these buildings comes with energy-saving, high impact glass floor-to-ceiling windows and doors
Right in the middle of all the tall buildings in Marina Boulevard is a green square where activities are conducted. Spotted this group of teenagers having some promotion for their activities.
Short video of the Singapore skyline from Marina Boulevard.

Skywatch Friday-Parkview Square
Parkview Square is one of the more expensive office buildings in Singapore. Besides commercial office space, Parkview Square also houses the embassies of Austria, Mongolia and the United Arab Emirates. You can read more about this building from source.
The building looked so impressive. On zooming the top of the building, you can see four giant statues holding a ball each. This is the best my camera can zoom....sigh. I think I need to get a better camera that can zoom more than 10 times ....lol.

Street Scene-Business Financial District
This is a street scene taken on a lazy weekend afternoon. You would see more vehicles during the morning and evening weekday rush hours. In the background are tall buildings in the Raffles Place and Business Financial District.

Singapore River
Singapore River has a very rich history. It used to be the river mouth for trade activities. Many bum boats will carry goods from bigger ships in the sea to this river. Here the coolies/workers (see earlier post) will carry the goods from the bum boats to the warehouse, etc.
The river used to be dirty and smelly cause of the congestion of boats but since the big clean up in 1977, the river is so much cleaner and not smelly anymore. It is a beautiful view to look with all the tall buildings beside the river. For more information of Singapore River, you can view them here.
