Geylang Serai Ramadhan Bazaar 2017

This year the Bazaar at Geylang Serai was really very interesting. A lot of new street food looked so beautiful, delicious and yummy. It sure attracted a lot of crowds not only from the muslim community but also from other races too as well as tourists. I really recommended a must visit. It was not very cramped as the bazaar was well spaced on each side of the roads so the crowd was well spread out.  The bazaar was around the Geylang Serai Market, Joo Chiat Compled and along Haig Road and will be from May 25th to June 24th 2017. Of course best time to visit was at night, where the streets were lighted up and  good for photography.

This stall was really having the longest queue when I was there.

Beside food stalls, there's other stalls selling clothes, curtains, carpets, etc

There's even car show room at the bazaar.

Last night, we went to Chinatown to watch the street light up for this year mid autumn festival.

The road were closed for the night event. The decorations and lights will be from Aug 24 until Sep 28

Everyone were so excited once the VIPs switched on the lights for the decorations.

Visitors to Chinatown will be able to see streets in full bloom, lit by 3,100 flower-shaped lanterns for the first time.

Some short videos on the event for the day.

Mosaic Music Festival Singapore

How did you spend your weekend? I spend mine walking around Marina and saw this music festival near the esplanade. Very talented young people. The music festival will end this weekend, so do drop by for some nice music shows this week.

More information on the rest of the performances, you can view the official website. If not for my ear problem, I wish I could sit nearer and listen to the performance but being in our fifties our ears cannot take in too loud music, there will be pain in my right ear. I think I will be deaf in the years to come lol.

A very short video of the performance last night.

My World Tuesday - Mid Autumn Festival - Food Fair

This is my final posting for mid autumn festival. Been late in posting these photos cause I was away for a few days at a resort in a corner of Singapore.
As usual , food is always a welcome sight at any festival celebration. At the mid autumn festival, there's a Taiwan food fair.

There's lot of queues in all the counters. The only thing I hated was that one need to queue to purchase the food vouchers and then queue again at the respective counter to purchase food with the vouchers. Cant they do away with the vouchers. Seems like the vouchers are in tens of dollars and if you purchase less than the amount stated in the vouchers, there were be no refund.
Hubby and me ended up having dinner in a cozy corner cafe called STREET in Liang Court Mall. And the price at the cafe is so reasonable and the food good and there's no queues.
Queues to purchase food vouchers.

Candid shots of food vendors and customers.

Hahaha this food vendor is funny, he saw me taking photos and he called to me in mandarin and said "Take my photo! Take my photo!", so I obliged his request...lol.

Mid Autumn Festival - Performance

There's also performances from china as part of the mid autumn festival.

It was so crowded there and trying to get a good spot to take photos of the performance is difficult. I love the costumes and headdress of the performers.

Love the way the shadows in the background casted by the dancers.
