Fullerton Hotel Floral Decoration for Deepavali

Was at the Fullerton Hotel for a buffet lunch, spotted this beautiful floral decoration at the hotel in time for Deepavali next week. At first sight, I though the floral was surrounded by little lamp oil but was actually LED light.

After lunch, walked around Singapore River, it was so beautiful especially after the rain.

Realise time passes so fast, these 3 years, did not do any travelling and my passport expiring soon. Hopefully, I can resume travelling next year.

At the time of writting, I am still covid free but most of my family members had covid but mild symptoms and recover well and fast.

Now there urge for us to vaccinate the new bivalent vaccine. I am so scare of vaccination, already vaccinated 3 doses and my last booster was so painful and was sick for 2 days.

Hope the covid virus will disappear soon.

South Beach Hotel Singapore

There's a new hotel , South Beach Hotel that opened recently, a new 654- room five-star hotel, designed by famous French designer Philippe Starck.

The roof has a very beauticul curved designs.

Infront of the hotel was this fountain, can see the reflection of our legs haha.

Inside the hotel, the front lobby was quite dim but elegant.

Creative to make seats out of tree trunk.

At the entrance of the hotel, the LED screens become South Korean artist Lee Lee Nam's canvas, as the wall is filled with animated abstract shapes in a riot of colours.

Walk along Balestier Road - Street Scenes

Sometimes it is interesting just to snap any photos while you were walking along the road. I saw this very old hotel along Balestier Road. But on reaching home and loading to my computer, did I realise that they actually hang the Singapore Flag the wrong way hahaha. It was hung the reversed way.

There are many budget hotels along Balestier Road.

Also saw many tall and new condominiums coming up. Good that while new buildings are popping up, the old buildings are preserved and restored.

This is another building that was upgraded. It now sported a very modern look.

Skywatch Friday - Marina Bay Sands Hotels

Marina Bay Sands was officially opened two days ago.

Marina Bay Sands Hotel - it comprises of three 55 storey towers. The three towers are connected by a roof which is known as the Skypark. The Skypark has a 360 degrees view of Singapore. It must be very beautiful. Visitors can view Singapore from the skypark and it is free for hotel guests while others have to pay $20 to visit the skypark.

I am not sure if I want to pay $20 to view from the top. I can just go to any highrise buildings to view Singapore free of charge....lol. But I might change my mind...hahaha.

I am very impressed by the whole building. The roof looked like a space ship or boat.

The hotel and The Shoppes (which I had posted earlier) are connected via a bridge.

On the official opening, 21 climbers from different countries were invited to climb up the three towers. The winner of the climbing competition is from Singapore. Yayyyyyy. You can view more news and photos from the MBS official website.

Love the reflection of the clouds on the window panels of the hotel.

Marriott Hotel

This is Marriott Hotel with a very beautiful chinese roof. Each time I walked along Orchard Road, it wont failed to catch my eyes. There is a shopping mall below the hotel known as CK Tang, they sell nice designer clothes and bags and shoes. Great place to shop.

Look out for their household items and the promoters in their basement. It is very interesting just to watch the promoters demonstrating their wares. Too bad, I cant take photos in there.

Dark Clouds above the highest hotel in Singapore

This photo was just taken in the evening. It looked as if it was about to rain. Swissotel The Stamford stand at 741 ft used to be the highest hotel in the world. For the list of the tallest hotel in the world, look here.

The Majestic

Majestic Theatre was a Cantonese opera house built by philanthropist Eu Tong Sen for his wife who was a Cantonese opera fan. The theatre had been converted to a shopping mall and now being converted to a hotel called New Majestic Hotel but they would be keeping much of the exterior untouched to keep the heritage building image.

Each time I passed by the theatre (hotel now), I would looked at the beautiful craftsmanship of these opera figures. It has a long history, been built in 1928. During World War II, the Japanese took control of it (1942) and was used to screen Japanese propaganda films. The Japanese Occupation ended in 1945.

So the next time you passed by Majestic, please stop and admire the beautiful craftsmanship.

Antiques at the lobby of Singapore Swissotel Merchant Court

When I went to the Ellenborough Market Café at Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore for buffet, something beautiful caught my eyes besides the gorgeous and yummy buffet.

These antiques displayed at the lobby of the hotel are so beautiful that I cant resist taking photos of them.

The below photo is an antique bowl on displayed. It is a very huge bowl and the designs on the bowl are very lovely.

The vases on displayed are very tall about 6 feet. I think they are lovely and must be very expensive.

You need to go to the hotel for their sumptous buffet and dont forget to admire those beautiful art pieces.

Fullerton Hotel Singapore

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is located near the mouth of the Singapore River, in the financial and business district. It was originally known as The Fullerton Building, and also as the General Post Office Building. (For more info: Fullerton Hotel History )

This must be one of the nicest underpass in Singapore. It had travellators and it is carpeted and air conditioned too. This underpass belongs to Fullerton Hotel linking the hotel with one fullerton building which houses many restaurants and shops.

Oh, I am not promoting Fullerton Hotel but was on my way to a seafood restaurant at one fullerton building to eat chilli crabs.....lol. Just thought that the building make a great photo shot.

Fullerton Hotel is easily accessible by public transport, being just a minute’s walk from the Raffles Place Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station and steps away from the bus stop. This photo is the Raffles MRT Station, I like the design of the station.
