Life is almost back to normal but we are still taking lots of cautions due to the Covid Pandemic

It was a weekday, I had to run some errands at Marina Bay Sands. Normally I would not travel far from my home but need to go to collect something. It was a very different Marina Bay Sands from the usual sight. Not many people in here due to the covid travel ban in many countries, otherwise it would be full of tourists. 

It was great to be able to take some photos without people blocking my view but I need to be cautious too. I am wearing a mask. It was mandatory in Singapore to wear masks indoor or outdoor unless dining or doing exercises.

After finished my errands, did some walking around the mall and love the peaceful atmosphere.

Time to head back. I was the only one in the MRT train between Bayfront Station and Promenade Station but after that lots of people coming in. Life has almost back to normal in Singapore. It is still empty in the CBD but not the heartlands.

Full of shoppers and diners in shopping mall located in the heartlands. Weekend it would be very very crowded but social distance is still in place and masks is still mandatory. We are all very law abiding and everyone wear the masks. For those not wearing masks, there's a fine of S$300. And we cannot gather more than five people at the moment except when there's a wedding (100 people), religious events, cinema etc. More Covid 19 restrictions has been eased and we are looking foward to everything back to normal . There's very low number of cases in the community and sometimes zero. Wearing the masks certainly help stop the spreading of the virus and also need the community to co operate in wearing the masks and social distancing. 

I am so used to wearing the mask now and never leave home without one. Also using the hand sanitizer more often especially after payment for my purchases, using the public transport, etc

People queuing to dine in newly open restaurants in the heartland shopping malls. Staffs around to make sure people are social distancing when queueing otherwise the restaurants will also face a fine.

Chinese New Year 2018 - Lion and Dragon Dance at Nex Mall, Singapore

Today is the sixth day of the Chinese Lunar Year. Was shopping at Nex Mall, chanced upon these Lion and Dragon Dance Performance for the Chinese New Year. Really enjoyed the performance.

Sesame Street Christmas Performance 2016 at Nex Shopping Mall Singapore

It's the year end school holiday, one great place to bring the kids was to watch the Sesame Street Christmas Performance 2016 at Nex Shopping Mall.

Sesame Street characters from 1 to 11 December 2016! Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover and the Count will be performing an entertaining Sesame Street Live! show filled with familiar songs and catchy tunes.

Performing Time - Tuesday to thursday, 1 pm and 4 pm daily

Fri to Sunday - 1pm, 4 pm and 7 pm daily

Charlie Brown and Friends Show 2015 at Nex Shopping Mall

Charlie Brown and Friends are performing at Nex Shopping Mall. It's the school holiday, bring the kids down to watch the show.

My World Tuesday - Childhood Games

Was shopping at NTUC Fairprice Supermarket at Nex Mall when I spotted these displays of childhood games. It brought back fond memories of my childhood. We had so much fun playing with these games. We dont even have the luxury of owning a television. We even made our own childhood games and toys.

I even remembered drawing my own paper doll and designed and coloured the paper dresses for the paper doll and my paper doll had the same name as me, hahaha ie Alice.

Chinese New Year 2015 - God of Fortune

Hahaha spotted God of Fortune in a shopping mall, is actually a promotion for one of the restaurant in the mall.

Guess I was very lucky to receive a gift of oranges and red packet from God of Fortune. :)

My World Tuesday - Nex

Saw this huge polar bear trying to climb through the wall. The bear was not part of a poster or painting, the bear was jutting out of the wall. Very creative idea on the advertising part.

The advertisement is for Planet Earth. The advertisment is located at the North East Line of the MRT in Singapore.

From the NEL Serangoon Station, you can enter NEX shopping mall which is at Basement 1. The entrance from the MRT Station to NEX just open recently.

From Circle Line MRT Station of Serangoon, you can also access to NEX Shopping Mall which is at basement 2.

Skywatch Friday - Nex

One of my favourite place is to head to the library. Serangoon Library on the top of the roof top of Nex Shopping Mall is the latest library to be open. It was open last week. The library is rather small but the books there are all very new.

I did not stay long in the library cause it was so noisy with so many children because of the school holiday. The children section and the adult section in the library are very close to each other.

I prefer other libraries where the children section are separated from the adult section where one can read in silence.

But the serangoon library is very convenient cause is on the rooftop of the mall and also above the MRT Station. So if you just want to borrow your books you can head here but if you want some silence reading, do it after the school holidays.

Also above the roof top of the NEX mall is a children playground with waterpool and fountain. Great place for the kids to play. But the playground will be closed if it rain heavily.

I think this is the first mall with play area for dogs. This the dog park on the rooftop of NEX mall. Dogs are not allowed in shopping mall in Singapore unless the dog are those who aid the blind. Owners have to use separate lift to access the rooftop with their dogs. There's a restaurant for pets too on the rooftop.

Nex -

From far, I thought I saw a dummy hanging from the side builing of NEX Shopping Mall.

But on zooming closer to it, I realised it was a worker doing cleaning or maintenance on the side of the building. He looked like he had some experience of rock climbing, etc.

Some of the window cleaners over here are hired from a pool of mountain climbers to do such job and they are well paid.

Not easy making money from this occupation.
