My World Tuesday - Murals in Underpass Tunnel

I was walking in the tunnel and was immediately attracted to the beautiful murals in the tunnel. As I google and found that is part of Singapore turning 50 next year celebration and to beautify most of the tunnels around Singapore. Think is a good idea otherwise is very boring to walk in a dull tunnel.

For more information about the murals you can view the website of Singapore River.com.

The theme of the murals tell the story of the birth of Singapore. From the time Sang Nila Utama witnessed a lion and named the island Singa, to the birth of a bustling trading port, to a celebration of lights, colours and the vibrant city that Singapore has evolved into today.

The drawing of the tiger I think is more likely the animal the prince saw cause wild tigers were more common in old Singapore rather than lions.

Will look out for more murals if I come across any tunnels lol.

Tanjong Pagar Railway Station - Inside the station

Inside the station, it was very spacious and have very high ceiling.

Tickets to Malaysia are mostly sold out for the month of June. Most people would like to take the train at this station for historical moment before the station is relocated to Woodlands.

There were some canteens in the station selling malay food. They are really delicious. Will post about it in later post.

A replica of a malay kampong house inviting tourists to try out homestay kampong living with the locals in Malaysia.

Saw many shutterbugs taking photos of the station before it closed down. The station will be preseved but not sure who is taking over. Just hope the station will be accessible to the public.

High on the walls of the station are very beautiful murals representing the four themes of the railway station (ie Industry, Agriculture, Commerce and Transport).
Nice mural showing workers in a rubber plantation.

Murals showing workers planting rice.

Two short videos showing the interior of the station.

More photos coming in later posts showing the train.

Dian Xiao Er Restaurant in Jurong Point

This is the entrance of the Dian Xiao Er Restaurant in Jurong Point.

Hubby and me decided to lunch here after finding the food court, that I mentioned in earlier post, so crowded. I prefer the food court where I can ordered different dishes from different restaurants. But I am too hungry to wait for empty table at the food court, so here I am at Dian Xiao Er. No regrets... cause the food is good too and the ambience is lovely.

The decorations in this restaurant are so beautiful but the lightings are too dim for our eyes...lol .

The tables settings looked so cute. They are like individual stalls.

The restaurant looked so empty, I bet most went to the food court with more choices.

Oh I love these murals, they are so beautiful.

I wish I could draw and paint. :)
