I saw this vintage car at the carpark of changi museum. It looked so lovely.
It has a red license plate which indicate it is a weekend car. The Weekend Car Scheme allowed the owner of a car to drive it only during specified hours, mainly on weekends. The objective of this system was to allow Singaporeans, especially the lower income groups, to own cars without contributing to traffic congestion and also to those who only need to drive their cars only on weekends. An Arkies Musings
That is a well kept up old car Alice...
I've always wondered about seeing convertibles in Singapore. Between the sudden downpours, the scorching heat and mostly the exhaust of all the lorries, when would you ever want to have to top down?
Oh I love looking at classic cars too, especially the well kept ones. And they come in such good happy colors too.
ooh, I like this old car very much, what a good idea to use and show off your old car on week ends only.
Aliceg, I am sorry not to visit you so often when you are such a sweet and constant follower.
Yes They still use the old ferry in Penang, i love to have a ride with it.
Thanks all for your nice comments.
Kitem, I hope to visit most blogs but lately I am so busy so I dont post daily anymore unless I have extra time.
Oh, I still do have those old photos of the ferry but they are black and white and I looked so funny back then...lol.
What a good idea to have weekend car schemes.
And what a good-looking car!
wow, looks great!
It looks neat, I would drive it on the weekend in the country with the top down. Sounds like fun.
i like vintage cars. but havent drive one yet.
Dennis would look good in that car.
Dennis says the weekend (or limited hours for driving) car is a great idea--we could use this in the tri state area.
