Times are Bad

Look at the long queues of taxi waiting for passengers in front of Centrepoint, Orchard Road. It used to be long queues of shoppers waiting for taxi and this is on a Saturday afternoon.

Geez, times are really bad. We should come out and shop and make the economy better but of course we must not overspend our budget.

I know I am shopping this week with my childhood friend, there's a lot of good promotions and discounts on the things that we needed. I need to get some new clothes on good discounts to replace some old clothes hanging in my wardrobe for a long time...lol, and a nice evening dress for another nephew getting married this year. :)
Tomorrow post will be shopping malls opening soon.

same thing here in manila also. people seem to tighten their belt during these times. i often say that in situations like these, we need to buy more so that the money will circulate, coz less spending means less goods needed to be produced and less people to do work. that is when people lose jobs.

Lawstude, am glad you share the same opinion as me. :)

The discount is another thing that make me buy...lol. I just bought a flat screen TV that is 32 inches for my son's room and it cost me only $600+ and there's another $100shopping vouchers that comes with the purchase so the deal is so worth it. The TV was originally priced at $1000+

Yes Alice, we laughed a lot and it was very nice ........and many gifs HEHE...... but one year older, I still can not accept LOL Glad you asked, thanks you for your interest :))

The economy in The Netherlands is also falling:(
There are more people unemployed and that is not a good prospect. But we normal people can not much do about it, as long as the money continues to circulate around, it remains in its own country:)

The malls are jam packed here on the weekend but I definitely think there's more window shopping than the actual shopping. Yep, times are bad..:(

It's the same here Alice... many jobs are being lost.... I have two sons.. one in work and one trying to find work... very hard to find at the moment. I have friends who drive Taxi's and they now cut down the hours they spend on the road.
Lot's of shop are closing down as well... I feel it will get worse for some before it starts to get better.. What a sad comment this is.. sorry.

Yup, the economy is bad and I guess it will take about three or four years to go back to as before. I hope the jobless will get help in finding jobs.

I know the feeling cause I myself had been retrenched twice during my younger days but I guess I was luckier during that time cause the economy was not so bad as now. And I also get to work freelance accounting while I was jobless during those times when I was retrenched.

We were told to spend to be good citizens for 8 long years we were told to spend ~ many people believed spending was better than saving as much as possible and lost their homes here. But this will pass-- I think only the best shops will survive and maybe these bad times will change for the better HOW things are manufactured and HOW people spend/ save /conserve / think about material goods.
