Journey to Sentosa Part 1-Monorail and Tram

There are few ways to go to Sentosa Island from Singapore. They are by cable car, bus , car, taxi or monorail or if you preferred, you can walk or cycle there.

I went there by monorail. The monorail station is at VivoCity Shopping Mall.

You can purchase your monorail tickets from these machines. But if you preferred to purchase the monorail tickets together with the admission tickets to attractions in Sentosa, you could get them from the counters. The queues are long because of the flower show during chinese new year. Normally the queues is not that long.

You dont have to wait very long for the monorail trains.

On arriving at the beach station, you can take the trams to go around the island. I dont want to get stuck in the queues so I choose to walk to Palawan Beach from here. Only ten to fifteen minutes walk from here.

You can see the beaches(left is Palawan Beach and right is Siloso Beach) just next to the monorail station, so make sense to just take a little stroll to the beaches.

Gordon, that day was during the Chinese New Period and there's a flower show going. I hated to queue too.

Everything looks so bright and shiny and green and flowers and everything that isn't winter. That bridge in the post below looks so scary. You were brave to try to use the video camera while swaying back and forth. I don't know if I could do that, but I guess the netting keeps you from falling off into the water...Michelle
