Dark Clouds above the highest hotel in Singapore

This photo was just taken in the evening. It looked as if it was about to rain. Swissotel The Stamford stand at 741 ft used to be the highest hotel in the world. For the list of the tallest hotel in the world, look here.

Thanks to Tom for hosting Sky Watch, please see his website for other sky watchers.

It sure is tall, I wonder how much the top floor goes for? I love that emporis website you linked to. I go to it all of the time.

I like this unique angle but I guess being at the top of that hotel would provide some terrific photos!

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Sandy, Inside are indeed beautiful and there is a shopping mall beside it that's very exciting and fun.

Tom, you are right it tasted twice as good..hahaha.

Quin, I would love to go up the top but you need permission to go to the roof and unless you pay to stay in the hotel room. I hope to go up somewhere tall in Singapore to snap a bird eye view of Singapore, meanwhile you can see one of my post with a bird eye view. http://alicesg.blogspot.com/search/label/Bird%20Eye%20View

nice one for SWF! I fell from the sky. I'm a parachutist, and I missed my mark. Mine's up too hope you can visit.

I think you can still go to the top without getting a room. When it was still part of Westin Hotels, The Compass Rose (restaurant) was (maybe still is) on one of the top floors.
I remember clearly because my husband was sweet enough to make reservations for our anniversary. Unfortunately, I'm afraid of heights (yes, even indoors sometimes!) and after using the "express" elevator to the 80th floor, I was so sick to my stomach. We walked to the hostess, and then I promptly turned around and headed back to the elevator saying..."I can't do this, sorry"
I felt bad but what can you do?

Hey monkey girl, I forgot about the compass rose...lol, we have too many nice eating places. I had in mind another place to take nice photos. Will put in my blog when I done that. Oh yes, I do hope to arrange a lunch at compass rose one of these days. Thanks for reminding me. :)
