Mesh Tin

We were told to have a ready bag or emergency bag in case of a disaster. What is a ready bag?

READY Bag contains a collection of essential items (eg. torchlight, radio, medicine, etc) that will help you in an emergency.

The READY Bag will not help a person to survive every emergency or calamity. But the READY Bag contains items which could be handy in an emergency. (Sources from SCDF ).

I think I will include a mesh tin into my emergency bag. :) This is a lesson learn from my mom when she grab a cooking pot during WW2 while everyone grab sacks of rice but no cooking pot. (As mentioned in my earlier post.)

The mesh tin will be useful if one needs to boil water, cook some rice or heat up some food in an emergency.

Do you have an emergency bag? What do you include in it?

Good idea to take the coffee pot too. I think the pan you show is something like those once used in the Army. I like your post.

The mesh tin remind me of the 70's.We go for camping & we use the mesh tin as general uses.

Yes, you are both right. These mesh tins belong to my two sons. They used it during their camping during their secondary school days. They joined the National Cadet Corp Air Force.

Now the eldest will finished his national service this year while the youngest will be enlisted this year. In Singapore National Service for boys are compulsory.

Lincoln, I like the coffee pot you mentioned...lol. Maybe we can throw in a pillow or two in the emergency bag. :)

Can't see I have an emergency bag ... I have a first aids bag im any of my cars and one at home, but no emergency bag.

Guess I should start thinking of having one. Just in case.
Of course, with the coffee pot and your two pillows even it it takes a bigger bag ...

Been checking your older posts also and saw you were busy as a bee but seeing the lavender on the right I can understand why :)
If you like lavender, naybe you should award yourself a trip to Provence, the French area where you can see fields and fields of lavender.

I don't have one but that sounds like a very good idea and I will include something to cook in... You asked about a woodpecker that I had on my blog and if he made noises. The funny thing is that is makes a squeaky noise that seems like it should belong to a smaller bird. But when I hear it, I know what bird I am going to see here...Michelle

Hi Michelle, I guess the emergency bag will be different for everyone to cater to each needs. You are indeed a bird lover, you know a lot about birds. Love the pictures in your blogs. :)

Ha ha, what a funny post, I don't have any emergency bag, and I'm not going to get one any soon. Maybe I would include a bottle of whiskey, you never know, if ever I had to do one, and will rely on other good souls to boil my water.

Hahaha Kitem, I will look out for you in the crowd, I share my boiled water with you and you share your whiskey. :)

Hahaha, Dong the umbrella can be used as a container to collect rainwater...lol. It is very interesting to find out what people like to have in their emergency bag.

Since we are on the run, we do need to have some comfort too. Wish I could bring along a mattress...lol
