Fullerton Hotel Singapore

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore is located near the mouth of the Singapore River, in the financial and business district. It was originally known as The Fullerton Building, and also as the General Post Office Building. (For more info: Fullerton Hotel History )

This must be one of the nicest underpass in Singapore. It had travellators and it is carpeted and air conditioned too. This underpass belongs to Fullerton Hotel linking the hotel with one fullerton building which houses many restaurants and shops.

Oh, I am not promoting Fullerton Hotel but was on my way to a seafood restaurant at one fullerton building to eat chilli crabs.....lol. Just thought that the building make a great photo shot.

Fullerton Hotel is easily accessible by public transport, being just a minute’s walk from the Raffles Place Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station and steps away from the bus stop. This photo is the Raffles MRT Station, I like the design of the station.

Sun among the cloudy sky

Inspired by my good texan friend's blog sun and moon posting. I captured this photo of sun this morning. It is dangerous to look at the sun with the naked eye, so I just raised my camera and take a few shots. Anyway I cant raised my head to look at the sun too (lol), woken up yesterday with a stiff neck....ouch.........

The rain had finally slowly clearing but looking at the cloudy sky trying to hide the sun, hmmmm, I guess it would rain again.

I remember I sang this song when I was young. "Rain Rain go away, little children want to play". Now I hope the rain will go away for a while cause I have lots of gathering this weekend and a BBQ on Xmas Eve.....lol

A stroll down Chinatown, Singapore

Today, let us take a stroll down Chinatown Singapore. It is very convenient to get to there. Just board the MRT and head to Chinatown. There are many exits from Chinatown MRT Station. Look out for the exit A if you wanted to stroll down Pagoda Street.

Or you prefer to hitch a ride on the local trishaw but I think it is better to walk so that you can shop and eat at the same time...... :)

Or you prefer to buy the popular Bak Kwa from Bee Cheng Hiang (Mei Zhen Xiang), a long time brand name selling bak kwa (BBQ pork) with a consistency similar to jerky. (Yayyy.....This is my favourite.)

Or visit Chinatown Heritage, where it houses a wealth of memories and untold stories from the past.

Or just shop and shop...........

Souvenirs for you?

or you rather have tailored clothes and have it done in a few hours.

Hope you enjoy the little stroll down chinatown via my blog................Of course there are more lanes in Chinatown and more things to see but my little blog could only hold this much today...............

Married life is not alway peaceful, yes , we do have our arguments. One day, hubby and me argued over something silly.
And guess what my two sons said:

It was so funny and all of us bursted into laughter.

Street scenes along Waterloo Street Singapore

It was a nice walk along Waterloo Street on a lazy Saturday afternoon. You can see many activities along this street. When I saw these illegal indonesian vendors selling their products, I was curious and took photo of what they are selling but the vendors thought I am from some authorities (police or some journalists etc), they ran and hide.....lol

Indonesia local fruits/products.

Buskers at work.

This artist is fantastic, he could write those chinese wordings upside down.

It is fun watching children at play. I guess these kids are having lots of fun, playing at the fountain in front of Seiyu Departmental Store in Bugis Junction.

Apache

Ok, this is a few months old photo.

Took this photo just from my window. I am so happy that I managed to zoom them even though I did not have the best camera.

These apache or helicopters had just completed their performance at marina bay for this year National Day Parade. (Geez, I have no idea what they are apache or helicopters?)

Singapore River

What is happening at the river front? Lots of things happening. It is very interesting, we just sit and looked at the many things happening with lots of tourists hiding from the hot sun, wedding couples taking photo, etc. We just sat at the cosy couch at starbuck and sip nice drinks and watched the day go by. What a way to pass our time and destressing ourselves (yipeee).

Singapore River front with lots of building in the background in financial district.

This is the underneath of the bridge. It is so shady and make a good home for homeless (can shelter from the sun and rain). But not sure if it can protect the homeless from being caught by the police.

Bum boat ride to view Singapore River and its surroundings.

Tourists taking shelter underneath the bridge from the hot sun of Singapore (poor tourists). Well we are only 2 degree north of equator, what do you expect (hehehe).
Favourite place to take photo of wedding couple, of course the photographer is taking from another angle. But when the integrated resort is completed, I think it would be a very nice scenery.
Hey this is the venue for this year National Day Celebration. The red seats are where the VIP are sitting. The ferris wheel is still under construction. When completed, one can have a bird eye view of Singapore. I heard that it is fully booked for next year.

Christmas Shopping at Suntec

This is the period of time where most malls are decorated for christmas. Even the trees outside the malls are not spared. Come night, these decorations hung up at the trees would be lighted and it would be a beautiful sight.

Inside Suntec City Shopping Mall, it is beautifully decorated with glittery oranaments.

Toys Toys Toys..............this is the favourite with the kids. Time to shop for christmas presents.

Fountain of Wealth at Suntec City, Singapore

Fountain Of Wealth at Suntec City is the world's largest fountain. The fountain was constructed according to fengshui. The barbed wires around the frame with fairy lights are for christmas decorations that would be lighted up at night.

During certain periods of the day, the fountain is turned off and visitors are invited to walk around a mini fountain at the centre of the fountain's base for good luck.

Woodlands Housing Estate, Singapore

These are some of the many HDB flats where majority of Singaporeans stay in. Most of us own our own flats. They can range from one room, two rooms, three rooms, four rooms, five rooms and executive apartments. The rest stay in private housing, condominiums and landed properties.

The best thing about HDB flats are that they are located closed to schools, supermarkets, clinics, food centres, recreational facilities, MRT stations and bus interchanges.

Took this photo from the Woodlands MRT station, I like the view of the estate and especially those Palm Trees.

Pasar Malam

This is a typical Pasar Malam. Pasar means market and malam means night in malay.

In the olden times, vendors would sell their wares during the night by the roadside. But nowadays, everything is very organized, so we have this pasar malam under a huge tent, where all the different vendors would sell their goods during the day and night but the crowd would normally comes during the night where the weather is cooler. The different vendors sell all different kinds of stuff from food to clothes and household items and you can actually bargain with some of the stalls over the prices of items.

The pasar malam is not permanent and only for a period of days and then they moved to another heartland of Singapore and start all over again.

Christmas Tree at Causeway Point Shopping Mall

It is the time of the year again for christmas celebration and shopping. I really love end of the year where most malls and streets will be decorated with christmas trees and fairy lights. And not forgetting the shopping too.

Bicycle Parking Bay

This is a bicycle parking bay in the heartland of Singapore. Everything in Singapore is so organized and orderly, that is why we have low crime but not no crime
