Skywatch Friday - Gardens By The Bay

The main attraction in Gardens By The Bay must be the two domes.

The two domes looked like giant eggs. I will show the inside of the domes in later posts.

Saw a tree that bears fruits that looked like durians but on closer look, they are not durians. Not sure what trees are they.

The scenery infront of the two domes is beautiful especially with the Singapore Flyer in the background.

Love my new camera, I could zoom at the Singapore Flyer's capsules and able to see the people inside.

Gardens By The Bay - Different Ethnic Gardens

The garden is so huge that it could be difficult to cover every part of the garden. One can choose to use the Garden Cruiser to go round the garden. It is a 24 minute tour ride.

Access to the garden via Marina Bay Sands/Bayfront MRT Station will bring you to the Heritage Gardens a collection of four themed gardens that will take you through the history and culture of Singapore’s three main ethnic groups and colonial past.

Spotted a smiling Benevolent Buddha in the chinese garden.

You can view more photos from the official website of Gardens By the Bay Heritage Garden.

Gardens By The Bay - Dragonfly Lake

The Dragonfly Lake is between Marina Bays Sands and the Supertrees in Gardens By The Bay. You dont have to pay any admission fee to enter the Dragonfly Lake. Be sure to catch dragonflies resting around the lakes.

Seems there's a stream coming down from the top, but I was dead tired to climb up to see what's up there. The garden is so huge, need to come here another time to explore more places in the garden.

Nice to have these huge stones as benches around the lakes.

Best to walk along the boardwalk around the lake in the evening where the weather is cooler.

My World Tuesday- Gardens By The Bay

This is the latest attraction in Singapore. Gardens By The Bay almost 101 hectares is a very expensive garden, costs almost S$1 billion dollars to built. The aim is to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city.

The garden consists of three gardens, Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central. You can read more about the three gardens from wikipedia or the official website of Gardens By The Bay.

The main attractions in the Garden must be the two domes (forest cloud and flower dome)with high admission fees of $28 for tourist and $20 for locals and the admission fees of $5 for walking on the skywalk bridge among the supertrees. I will talk about and post photos of the domes in coming posts. For more information on the different admission fees, please refer to the official website of Gardens By The Bay Admission Fees.

Climbing up or take the lift up to the bridge linking the supertrees need to pay S$5 to view the scenery from the top. Very nice experience, no queues in the afternoon as there's no shelter at the bridge from the sun but I was lucky that day was a cloudy day so I had a fun time walking along the bridge and admiring the beauty of the scenery around it. Even though, I have a fear of heights, I just want to experience the view from up there.

From the bridge, we could view nearby Marina Bay Sands Hotel, nice to take photos from up there.

From the top of the bridge, I spotted three graduates of a local university trying to take photos of themselves at the garden.

My World Tuesday - Chinatown-Shopping at Kreta Ayer Market

Been a long time since I last visited Chinatown, Singapore. I decided to look around the shops in Kreta Ayer. Was surprised that shopping in here is really cheap, no need to bargain hard.

I got a pair of black walking shoes for only S$10, wow really so worth it. It was comfortable, I would go back there again and shop but gotta leave hubby at home hahaha cause he had no patience and keep hurried me with my shopping. I got a few other stuffs too.
