Hort Park is so huge, you need good walking shoes to explore the park.

Saw these tall green planters where they grew so many different plants vertically.

Hort Park 2 - Sculptures

Some of the sculptures I saw in Hort Park. There are more but there are too many people there for me to spot more.

This must be the tin man in the story of Wizard of Oz

And I found the lion but I missed the scarecrow and dorothy, too many people in the park for me to spot them.

My World Tuesday - Hort Park 1

Today, I will begin my series of posting of plants and flowers in Hort Park.

Some of the landscapes I saw inside Hort Park.

Oh I love these dragons.

Award winning designs, I love how they arranged the flowers at the side to make a pattern just like flower arrangements.

Not sure if this is a swimming pool or just for display, I could not see any sign beside it or I might have missed seeing any description of it.

At the Park

Still taking a stroll along the beach and the little park beside it.

Admiring flowers and plants as I stroll but dont ask me the names of the trees ...lol, I am not familar with their names.

I guess these fruits/seeds are waiting for birds to help them disperse and grow into tiny plants.
Now who might be living in this hole.

Housing Estate Part 3 - Mini Park

This is the same park near my brother's apartment that I have posted before. You can view my previous posting in here.

I went down to the mini park with my little niece in the evening. Now I see people starting to come out and play and also to exercise.

This place is so shady, I like it.

A track for residents to jog or run. Noticed in the background, some flats are on the ground floor and they can dry their clothes in the open space and also to grow plants. Residents on higher floor also can grow plants in pots but they cannot placed them on dangerous place (eg. window ledge), which can pose a danger to people walking on the ground floor.

Anyone who throws objects down from high buildings to endanger lives would have to face a heavy penalty.

Pebbles on the ground for foot exercises. There are many fallen leaves in here, the poor cleaner would have a hard time sweeping them the next day.
A suspended bridge popular with kids.

Looked at my little niece having fun with her stuffed doggie on the sea saw. The doggie is a christmas present that I bought for my niece when she was about 2 and she still keep it. It is so dirty and yellowish but she refused to change for a new stuff doggie ....lol I think I will bring her out next month during the school holiday to get a new stuff dog.

Noticed that the see saw is designed for safety. It is low and the mat to cushion any fall by kids.

There are more play equipment at the playground like the swing, swinging chair, car, etc but I did not take the photographs .

Skywatch-Friday-Istana Park - Part 3

Continuing from posts on flowers in the Istana Park.
Saw these beautiful bougainvillea. I always thought that bougainvillea are pink, did not realise they comes in white too.

Looking up through the arches, you can see both different colours of the plant.
Closer look at the white bougainvillea with the sky in the background.

Continuing from yesterday post on Istana Park, today I will show you some flowers that I saw at the park. As it is a very small park, there are not many flowers. Sorry I am not familiar with the names of the flowers. Will try to put in the names when I come across them.

Love these beautiful pink flowers

I think these are part of the ester flowers group, will t

Canna Flowers

This flower looked like a trumpet so it is called golden trumpet or as Yellow Allamanda (I hope I got the name right, correct me if it is not.)

My World Tuesday-Istana Park Part 1

This is a very small park but of great importance. It is Istana Park. You can read more about it in the below photo. The world Istana is actually a malay word meaning palace. But the Istana in Singapore is infact the official residence of our President where he receives and entertain guests. So this little park is just opposite the Istana.

The centrepiece of the park must be this Festival Arch which is 26 metres tall. You can read more about the Istana Park in here.

At the Istana Park, there's a coffee house here and when night comes there will be more customers.

Visit tomorrow to see the beautiful flowers I saw in the park.

Please visit "That's my World" for other parts of the world.

Mini Park

I am going away again over the weekend but I dont need a passport with me...lol. Will only be in a corner of Singapore , far from the city life , just to relax (hopefully) in a beautiful resort.

This is a mini park beside my brother's flat. It can be used for multiple purposes. The mini park itself had a amphitheatre, fitness corner, children playground, jogging path, BBQ facilities, etc.

The big green field can be used for playing soccer or holding any activities. In these photos, you could see the workers putting up scaffolding for a chinese festival. The bigger rectangle platform is for prayers and dining areas while the small squarish platform will be for chinese concert.

Below are two short video showing the activities in the park.

Take a closer look in the mini park, you could see people jogging and exercising.
