Car Parking

Ut oh this car park warden is issuing a parking fine to the car (behind the van) for exceeding its parking time limit.

In my part of the world, there are three modes of parking in Singapore - coupon parking, paid parking and season parking.

For coupon parking....parking coupons should be displayed on the dashboard so that car park warden can view it. You just tear tabs on the coupons to show the day, month , year and time you parked your car.

Paid parking is practised in almost all shopping centres, buildings and some public car parks. You basically pay for the time your vehicle is parked.

Season parking is usually applicable to tenants and residents at their office and residential car parks respectively.

For more information on car parking, you could view source from here.

With your very efficient MRT system, I wonder if parking is a source of hassle. It's nice to know about your parking system.

it's always fun to get a shot like this. Like the busy town children's books by Richard Scarry, except a bear wearing pants and a hat would be issuing the ticket.

I pay for a one year sticker to park at the train station.

In my village we just replaced coin meter parking with coupons like yours about 8 mos ago maybe.

paid parking-- i only use that at the airports.

Parking is so annoying. They need to do some scanning system to just charge people so they don't inadvertantly overstay their time.

Indrani, not all parking facilities are owned by the government. Some are privatised.

Louise, I think many would like to get away from paying too much for parking. So if they could steal a little more time in parking, they would be very happy..lol. So having a scanner meant having all the parking time recorded accurately is not popular here...lol. But in shopping centres, etc, they have scanner that accurately deduct from cash card on the dashboard of the vehicles.

Interesting system. Everywhere I've lived there's many more cars than parking, but none of us ever seem to learn.

Thanks for sharing your world.
