Revolution Travel Fair 2015 at Marina Bay Sands

The Revolution Travel Fair 2015 held at Marina Bay Sands Singapore, is organized by 24 travel agencies, including the travel industry’s Big Four – Chan Brothers Travel, CTC Travel, SA Tours, and Dynasty Travel. This brand new travel fair is to rival the well known NATAS Travel Fair, and is to be held on 3 – 5 April 2015 (postponed from the initial plan of 27 – 29 March 2015).

This travel fair looks better than the NATAS Fair that I posted in earlier post.

Best of all both fairs are free admission. NATAS used to charge admission fees at few dollars per person. Come on, we ain't going alone, it can be costly if we attend the fair in a family of four or more.

I have been attending such travel fair since decades ago when the fair started and it used to be free admission. The reason for such fair is for the convenience of both travel agents and consumers, so we can get information and compare prices under one roof, and decided which travel agents gives the best price for the tours we wanted to go, and also to get information from different tourism boards all under one roof too.

The crowd definitely looks bigger. I managed to get the information that I needed.

Wow the Thailand booth looks beautiful with its decorations.

Mascot for Chan Brothers Travel

Saw this advertisement for Tokyo, the price looks very attractive.

No, I did not book this tour, but I am going Japan in a couple of months, is a DIY tour.

Tribute to Father of Singapore

Today marks the 3rd day of mourning for the Father of Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Went to Kovan Hub to pen some sympathy and appreciation to our great leader and founder of modern Singapore. Was teary and sad that he wont be able to celebrate SG 50 with us this August 9, Singapore 50th birthday. Being 55 years old means I am older than Singapore, been through and witness more than 50 years the history of Singapore and how Singapore has changed to be a successful and rich country and how our lives have been improved too under the great leadership of Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Cannot imagine Singapore without "YEW". Rest in Peace, father of Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Newspaper Special Edition on Mr Lee Kuan Yew

There's special edition newspaper on the Life of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, went to queue to buy the papers.

Seems like most of us are not in a mood to do anything today, really so sad.

Remembering Founder of Singapore

So sad, woke up to very sad news of the passing of Founder of Singapore, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.

Being in the baby boomers generation and older than Singapore, we witness the progress and how successful Singapore is today. Thank you so much for giving us a peaceful and successful country to live in. May you rest in peace, Father of Singapore.

Hubby admire Mr. Lee Kuan Yew very much, he collects and read his books. I never like reading thick books but I somehow find myself reading his memoirs and managed to finished the whole interesting book. Too sad now.

My World Tuesday - Childhood Games

Was shopping at NTUC Fairprice Supermarket at Nex Mall when I spotted these displays of childhood games. It brought back fond memories of my childhood. We had so much fun playing with these games. We dont even have the luxury of owning a television. We even made our own childhood games and toys.

I even remembered drawing my own paper doll and designed and coloured the paper dresses for the paper doll and my paper doll had the same name as me, hahaha ie Alice.

For photos on other parts of the world, please visit Our World Tuesday Meme. Thanks to the team of Our World for giving us the opportunity to share my world with the rest of the world.

NATAS Travel Fair 2015

It is the time of the year for travel fair. This year NATAS (National Association of Travel Agents Singapore) travel fair is so much quieter than previous years. The smaller crowd was due to a number of big travel companies boycotting the fair and organizing another travel fair at another location. It was due to some disputes like increasing admission tickets to the fair and higher rental costs. You can read more from news.

I went to the fair to collect maps and brochures from some tourism boards so I dont have to go to the individual tourism offices spread all over Singapore. Planning my next trip in a couple of months.

Skywatch Friday - Clouds

Night was falling and suddenly a huge dark patch of clouds attracted me in the distance. I thought they looked like a happy dog running. Could not resist using my handphone to capture the beautiful cloud formation. Did you see the same as me?

Skywatch Friday - Tightrope walkers at River Hong Bao 2015

The highlight at the Singapore River Hong Bao 2015 must be the Tightrope Walkers from China.

For the first six days of the carnival, two members of the Acrobatic Troupe of Xinjiang China, Adili Wuxor and Abulaiti-Maijun, will perform stunts on a 60m-long tightrope, at least 20m off the ground. They hold several world records for tightrope-related stunts. - See more from Straitstimes.

Sorry if the video is shaky cause too crowded and people have been bumping into me.

Video 1 - The tightrope walker trying to balance upside down on the rope.

Video 2 - Second performer walking blindfolded.

Video 3 - Performer cycling on the unicycle high up in the sky.

Video 4 - Two performers performing at the same time, crossing over one another and dancing on the rope.
