Pink Saturday-Bus

My contribution for Pink Saturday are buses with pink features in them.

I noticed the new buses over here, have very pretty pink railings in them. Most of our buses are air conditioned and fitted with a mobile TV. No eating and drinking allowed in the public transports to keep them clean. The old buses always ended having cockroaches cause inconsiderate people eat and drink in the buses.

Oh I like these open top buses. Did you spot the pink bus in the photo below? This was taken at Bras Basah Road.

These open top buses are known as Hippo Bus and they are mainly for tourists.
Each Hippo tour lasts approximately 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. The Hop-On Hop-off system allows tourists to tour at their own leisure pace. Spot an interesting place or sight and simply inform the captain or HiPPOtainer. Hop off and walk around at your on pace and tourists can always continue the tour later by hopping onto the next HiPPO bus.
You can get more information and the prices for the hippo bus in their official website.

Skywatch Friday

I was visiting a friend's home when I saw this beautiful sight outside her window. So I quickly snap this shot with my camera.

At first glance, I thought the sun was behind the cloud and the rays emerging from behind the clouds but if you look at the second photo, it is sunset and the sun is further away from the cloud so the "rays" behind the clouds are just line or clouds formation that looked like the sun's rays. I thought it looked amazing.

My World Tuesday-Registry of Marriage

This is the Registry of Marriages for all races except muslim. Muslim will be in another hall (see below photo).

The two parties come to the Registry of Marriage register for a date.

They will then be put to a petition for any objections for 30 days (21 days minimum) and to wed before 3 months.

I love this miniature bear couple sitting in a miniature sofa....so cute.

This is the registry only for muslim marriages.

Muslim marriages are solemnised and administered by the Registry of Muslim Marriages.

Lucky me, manage to take this photo of a muslim wedding couple and their families.

Visit to the Singapore Museum-Part 11-Other purposes

I have finally come to the end of my museum posting. The museum is not only a place just to view the exhibits of Singapore history.

It is a beautiful place to have your wedding photos taken in here.

I wish I had mine taken 25 years ago in the museum and then I can put my wedding gown in the museum as exhibit......lol

This is a very nice shot.

As it is the school holidays for Singapore kids, the museum set up special corners for the children to have some fun.

You can see how big and spacious the museum is.

Pipes and wires are fun to play with too.

That's all folks on my visit to the National Museum of Singapore. To know more about the museum you can view its official website in here.

Visit to the National Museum-Part 10-Wayang and Fashion

This wil be my second last series of posting of the museum.

Now this looked so scary and spooky. It is in the fashion gallery of the museum. Admission to this part of the museum is free of charge.

The bridal gown looked like a headless and limbess ghost at first glance....lol

These hair rollers looked so familar, I remember using them when I was young...hahaha.

Noticed the lower and short sewing machine. That is powered by hand. I used that during my secondary school, you use your right to turn the wheel of the sewing machine and your left hand to guide the fabric while the other sewing machine is powered by legs.

Nowadays the sewing machines are all run by electric and computerized.

This part of the exhibits are in the wayang gallery. I love the costumes and accessories displayed there. You should actually watch a live performance of the wayang. You can see my posting of a local wayang in here.

There are so many more interesting exhibits at the museum, you need to go there to view.
