A trip up Mount Faber - Part 2 (City View)

Looking from the other side of Mount Faber, I could now see the city view instead of the sea view.

These are the housing apartments of the heartlanders of Telok Blangah, they are at least 30 years of age but the apartments in here are worth more than in some other estates because of their location. The apartments over here have a backing of Mount Faber and a sea view (good fengshui). In Feng Shui, a backing of a mountain/hill meant protection and water meant wealth.

Looking further away, we could see the skyline of the city. It looked cramp but in between these buildings there are plenty of greenery otherwise we wont be called a garden city. :)

More photos of Mount Faber coming up in later post.

A trip up Mount Faber - Part 1(Sea View)

Mount Faber is not a mountain but rather is a hill measuring only 105 metres in height. It is a place where you could dine or just relax or take a stroll. Sorry there wont be any shopping malls up there. One can have a panaromic view of Singapore up above Mount Faber.
.
(The above photo had the view of the busy shipping port.)

There are many ways of going up Mount Faber. One way is driving up or taking a cab. A cheaper way is to take the public bus no. 409 at Harbour Front Bus Terminal for only $1 (one way trip). However the bus is only available during weekend. Or you could take the cable car from Harbour Front to Mount Faber and if you bought the return trip ticket, you could use it to go to Sentosa too or vice versa. For more information on the cable car, you could visit website. It is wiser to buy the return trip ticket instead of a one way ticket (it is just a difference of $1).

(The above photo shows the Harbour Front Cable Car Station, the cruise centre and Sentosa. The cruise centre will be relocated to Marina South in later years. Lots of construction on Sentosa.)

Another way is taking the stairs (opposite harbour front) to climb up to Mount Faber but it could be tiring. The latest trend was taking the bus 409 to Mount Faber and then walk down the hill via Henderson Waves Bridge (Singapore highest pedestrian bridge). You can see the photo of the beautiful bridge in here.

(The above photo shows some condominium and further away you might be able to see Indonesia on a fine day.)

More information and photos of Mount Faber could be seen in their official website.

I have more photos of Mount Faber in later post.

Sky watch-Cable Cars To Mount Faber

Yes, Yes, I am so much better now. Thanks to all my fellow bloggers for your concern and well wishes. So come with me today for a top of the world feeling at Mount Faber. :) Mount Faber is not a mountain despite the "mount". It is only a hill about 105 metres in high. Singapore is generally a very flat piece of land and no mountains except for some hills.

This is the cable car station at Harbour Front. You could take the cable car to Sentosa or to Mount Faber.

A closer look at the cable cars from where I was standing.

This is the Mount Faber station where the cable car is heading.

I am standing at the top of Mount Faber, which had a very good bird eye view of south of Singapore and Sentosa. I will post more photos of Mount Faber in later post.

Thanks to Tom for hosting Sky Watch. For other sky watchers, you can go to Tom's website.

Nature in Singapore

Hi my fellow bloggers,

My blog are mostly photos of the city and its surroundings. I am not one who would walked right into the seabed to take photos of sea creatures, etc...lol.

I leave that to the young bloggers to share these amazing photos of nature in Singapore.

Please visit this lovely blog on nature of Singapore.

I am sick

I guessed all the fun merry making at K box and the K-box's too cold air conditioning made me sick...lol . Will be out of action for a while. It is just a bad flu.
