The Singapore Flyer
At last, I visited The Singapore Flyer even though The Singapore Flyer has been operating for many years lol.
The adult ticket for The Singapore Flyer was $33 but we got a 15% discount cause we had a passion card with us. There's many other discounts promotions. You can check it out at the The Singapore Flyer's official website.
Each capsule can take 28 people but as it was not crowded that day, there's only 5 people in our capsule.
The Singapore Flyer is the World's Largest Giant Observation Wheel with a height of 165 m.
We were at the highest point of The Singapore Flyer, very great experience, could see the people clearly in the next capsule.
View of the uncompleted future Singapore Sports Hub which will be open middle of this year. It looked very impressive from the website.
We could also view the two domes at Gardens By the Bay.
Fantatic view of Marina Bay from The Singapore Flyer.
Using camera's zoom feature, I could see people at the roof top of Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
Short video of the view of Marina Bay from The Singapore Flyer.

Chinatown Food Street Singapore
The Chinatown Food Street is finally back in business and reopened on Saturday, Feb 22, 2014. Last Friday, my friend and I went there for some tea break after visiting the Singapore Food Trail and Singapore Flyer.
The 100-metre street, located at Smith Street, has undergone a $5 million facelift which includes a high-ceiling glass shelter and a built-in cooling system. Glad that there's a roof so that we can still dine there on a rainy day but seems like the rain is absent for so many weeks in Singapore. Hope the rain will visit us soon.
There are 24 street hawker shops, six shophouse restaurants and several street kiosks on the food street which will open from 11am to 11pm daily.
There'a statue of the Samsui Woman at the top of the road sign infront of the food street. Majority of the samsui woman lived in Chinatown during the early days. They were a great contribution to the building of Singapore. You can read the history of them from
infopedia.
There's still some minor construction works going at the street.
The first stall we hit must be the drinks stall, we were so hot and thirsty after a whole morning outing lol. I did not even remember to take photo of the food we ate lol.
There were still many stalls but too tired to go round taking each stall.
You can view the map of Smith Street from here.

Balestier Heritage Trail - Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall - Part 1
Another famous attraction in Balestier is the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall.
Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH), a heritage institution under the National Heritage Board, traces Dr. Sun's revolutionary activities in the Southeast Asian region and highlights the impact of the 1911 Chinese Revolution on Singapore as well as Singapore's contributions to the Revolution. You can find out more about the memorial hall from its official website.
Description of the building found on the plaque near the statue.
The fruit that Dr. Sun Yat Sen loves is the chiku or ren xin guo. It is known as other names as in this list.
There was a two-metre tall bronze wall mural which spans 60 metres which depicts scenes of Singapore as a fishing village in the 1840s and the Sook Ching Massacre in 1942.

Balestier Heritage Trail- Zhongshan Park
It was nice taking a stroll in Balestier, one can discover past history of Singapore. You can read my old posts on my past visits to Balestier.
You can find more information from the plaque infront of the Zhongshan park.
As part of the overall master plan to integrate the adjacent Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall within the project, an area covering 4,624sqm has been dedicated as a public park, called “Zhongshan park”, in honour of Dr Sun Yat Sen (the founding father of the Republic of China). source
There are hotels, restaurants, etc beside the park. Was surprised to find the park so beautiful.
Family enjoy day out at the park.
Next post on Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall.
