Wedding

For privacy reasons, sorry you cant see the photos of the wedding couple.

Hand bouquet of bride, I love the strand of pearls with the beautiful flowers.

Five tiers wedding cake and yes it is a dummy cake.

Champagne glasses to toast to relatives and friends. I swear the champagne tasted extra good. :)

The "His" and "Her" gift boxes to contain gift of money from well wishes. Most people would give "Hong Bao" or red packets consisting of money as gifts to the wedding couples. Sometimes people are very generous with the gifts and there are some who are rather stingy. Sometimes the gifts can covered the cost of the wedding dinner but most of the time the gifts could not covered the cost of the wedding dinner as it becoming more expensive to hold wedding dinners in hotels. Each table could cost about $700+ to $1000+ or more in grand hotels.

End of the wedding dinner. Now wishing next year, I could be a grand aunt. :)

Pink Saturday - Wedding

My contribution for Pink Saturday are these pink flowers. Attended my husband's nephew wedding. Was a very beautiful wedding. This wedding couple in a heart shaped accessory is on top of a few tiers wedding cake.

Beautiful floral arrangement with candles on the VIP table (i.e. the wedding couple and their closed family members). My family and me had the priviledge of sitting with the wedding couple at this VIP table.

Pink roses flanking a lighted candle. It is so beautiful and romatic.

This is a pink rose too but I wondered why it appeared to be orange in colour, could be due to the lighting above it.

You can see some of the roses are pink and those roses facing me appeared orange.

This is the whole deco. piece.

Took this when most of the guests are leaving after the wedding dinner.

Will post more about the wedding in future posts.

Christmas Decorations from Orchard Road to Bras Basah Road

Towards the year end, our streets will be decorated with fairy lights from Tanglin Road to Orchard Road to Bras Basah Road and finally end in Raffles Link.
Last year, the theme for the decoration was Christmas in Fairyland. This year theme is Sweet Christmas in Singapore, so you can expect sweets and candy in the decorations.

This stretch of the road is Orchard Road and it was the peak hour where many office people were heading home and that explained the high volume of traffic in the above photo. Same secenario when weekend comes and people came in cars and public transport to shop...lol

Now you can compare the day and night views of the christmas decorations along the streets.

This is Bras Basah Road, which is quieter than Orchard Road and lesser tall buildings and malls.

It was more pleasant to take a stroll and admire the lights at Bras Basah Road than Orchard Road if you want some peace and romantic moments.

I enjoyed my walk along Bras Basah Road. Did you enjoyed the little trip here?

This year decorations were a bit bare compared with last year decorations in Orchard Road. But I have yet gone to the heart of Orchard Road to take more christmas photos, hope I would not be disappointed.

Bak Kwa

My first attempt at making Bak Kwa, by the time you read this post, it's already been eaten by my youngest son...lol

To see more step by step photos of the DIY Bak Kwa, you can view my food blog.

Bakkwa, or rougan is a Chinese salty-sweet dried meat product similar to jerky, made in the form of flat thin sheets. It is normally made from pork. For more information, please view source.

Christmas Tree at Raffles City

Every year end, my part of the world would decorate the streets from Orchard Road to Bras Basah Road with fairy lights and christmas trees and other decorations.

Hubby and me were walking along Bras Basah Road with not many crowds and it was quite peaceful and romantic to see these fairy lights and the christmas tree twinkling away.

Ut Oh, I spotted one part of the tree not twinkling, the lights might have blown. This photo was taken on 17th November 2008. They should have been repaired by now.

Closer look at the tree and two short videos showing the tree twinkling.

Come visit me on Skywatch Friday, I will post more fairy lights decorated along the streets.

Please visit "That's my World" for other parts of the world.
