The old market was small, dark, wet and smelly. But when I visited the new market, it was very big, bright and spacious.
The market sold mainly halal food and there's a lot of varieties of malay food and spices too. On the ground floor is the market while on the second floor is the food centre.
The design of the market was built to resemble the malay villages. Geylang Serai used to be a malay village.
Beside food, the market also sold curtains, cloth, clothes, household stuff, etc.
Taxi stand outside the market. After marketing, many would take taxi back, as some of them dont stay nearby but come here because of the halal food, being the only market in Singapore that sell mainly halal food.
You have to return tomorrow to view the photos of the market and the food centre.
