My World Tuesday-Jurong Point Shopping Mall-Eat and Shop and Shop and Eat

Here I go again, a shopping trip. :) This time it is to the very west side of Singapore. Yes, it is Jurong and this is Jurong Point Shopping Mall. Singapore is a shopping and food paradise. So this mall has lots of eateries for all different types of food. I think there are more food outlets than shops...lol.

The escalator leading to the food court that has many little restaurants in it. You can sit at the main table and ordered different dishes from the restaurants. Example you can just order one dish from restaurant A and another dish from restaurant B. You can then try different dishes from different restaurants. But the crowd is there and I am so hungry to wait for an empty table so I ended up at Dian Xiao Er Restaurant that is not in the food court.

This is the new extension of the old Jurong Point Shopping Mall.
At the basement, there are rows and rows of tables and chairs that belongs to different restaurants. At the basement are mostly fast food restaurants, like MacDonald, New York New York, Long John Silvers, etc.

Botanic Garden-famous Gazebo

This is a very famous gazebo in Singapore Botanic Garden. It was there even before I was born. It used to be a bandstand too. It was built in the early 1860s and staged many performances by military bands for many years. Although it is no longer used as a bandstand, this gazebo is still very attractive to visitors and photographers. You can read more from the Singapore Botanic Garden's website. I am trying to find the old B&W photo of me in the gazebo during my childhood...lol.

I did a sketch of the gazebo and no I did not do it free hand...lol. I used a software to sketch out from the original photo. It looked so good.

Skywatch Friday-Singapore Cruise Centre at Harbour Front

This is the cruise centre at Harbour Front. In a few years time they will shift to a new and bigger cruise centre at Marina South.

Noticed the cable cars moving above the big cruise ship, the cable cars are moving towards Sentosa Island. The photo looked so blue because I was inside the monorail train with blue glass window.

My Chinese Kwa or Dragon and Phoenix Bridal Dress

As promised, I will show you my chinese kwa that I wore during my wedding twenty five years ago. Look at the collar, you can see how small my neck was 25 years ago...lol. I think I grow one size bigger now...hehehe.

Take a good look at the blouse, the dragon is alway on top of the phoenix. The dragon represents the male who is the head of the family while the phoenix the female.

The kwa is still in a very good condition and they were embroidered and the threads are still intact and the material is made of good quality unlike the one I show you yesterday, the material is of poorer quality. There are not many of this design on sale now . Geez now I sounded very antique...lol.

Closer look at the embroideries of the dragon and the phoenix.

This is the back of the blouse with a dragon on the left and the phoenix on the right. Dont you agree this is just like a piece of beautiful artwork?

This is the long skirt to go with the above blouse.
Do you still have your wedding dress tucked in some corners of your house?
