My World Tuesday - Japan Fair at Jurong Point
Last weekend, I was at Jurong Point shopping and dining and was pleased that there was a Japan Fair going on at the mall. Saw the national costume of the Japanese, love how the kimono look so beautifully especially the bows/ribbons at the back. The huge paper origami of the crane was a reminder of how my late paternal grandmother used to teach us how to fold them.A short video on the demonstration of making mochi or muah chee. For other sky watchers, please hop over to Skywatch Blog

Chinese New Year 2013 - Red Packets
This year, got some very beautiful red packets (or ang pows/hong bao) from the respective banks. I love the red packets with the pandas the best from Standard Chartered Bank. Red packets are given during Chinese New Year or good occasion like weddings or birthdays. Red packets is usually given out by married couples. The amount of money contained in the red packets usually ends with an even digit, 8, 18, 88 and 168 are all lucky numbers (which sounds like prosper in mandarin) and odd-numbered money gifts are traditionally associated with funerals.

A very happy Chinese New Year to all who celebrate the festival. This being the year of the Snake, we could see lots of decorations and toys associated with the snake.I was so busy spring cleaning and shopping and stocking up food for the festival. Most malls, shops and markets would be closed especially during the first two days of the year of the snake.
