My Walking Trip Part 10-Signs

My walking trip is coming to an end, I did not see any monkeys but these are some of the signs that I came across.

To protect the pedestrians and the beautiful bridges, bicycles, motorbikes, rollerskates or flammable stuff are not allowed on the bridge.

This sign is in the park. So be considerate, so others can enjoy the park.

Dont go on the walking trip if it is raining or there's thunder cause there's no shelter along the walk. The only shelter there is almost near anther bridge (Alexandra Arch), which I will post tomorrow for skywatch to conclude my walking trip.

The residential area mentioned in the sign below are almost near the end of walking trip, i.e. near to the Alexandra Arch. I will post the photo of the residential area on another post.

Have you enjoyed the walking trip as much as I do, but do keep the forest clean and green. Hope the information that I posted on my walking trip is useful to those who are planning to try the Southern Ridge i.e. the shorter version-that I did.

My Walking Trip Part 9 - Forest Walk - Activities by Students

I am almost done walking from Henderson Waves to Alexandra Arch. I did not complete the whole stretch of Southern Ridges which started from Marang Trail (i.e. at the foot of Mount Faber, opposite Vivo City) which ended in the West Coast of Singapore. The whole stretch is about 9 km and take more than 3 hours for an average walker like me.

This map is taken from the straits times and I found it in this blog. You can click on the map to enlarge it. The trail that I took was between the yellow and red trails, it is short and I already posted so much...lol. It took me 1 and half hour to complete the short trail, which included resting and phototaking. Can you imagine if I completed the whole 9 km, I would post days and weeks of the walk...lol.

I think these university students completed the whole trail. They are playing Amazing Race, a local version. The above photo shows some of them getting lost.

Short and interesting videos of these students.

They have to complete some challenges before they can continued their amazing race.

My World - My Walking Trip - Part 8 - Forest Walk - Flora 2

Continued from previous post - and I am still walking...lol. Well it is a long walk and I enjoyed looking at the scenery too. Hey I spotted some banana plants growing in the wild too.

Hope you can see a big bunch of banana up there.

This tree looked so unique with all the branches entwined.

I did not expect to see bamboo trees growing here too. It looked so beautiful. I love bamboo trees and remember my 1st home. I had tiles that have pictures of the bamboo, I think I will try to find the old photo of the tiles.

From afar I saw this beautiful tree (circled), it looked so strange and lovely. So I zoomed on it.

Close view of the tree.

Although Singapore is a tiny country and a cosmopolitan city, we still have a lot of rainforest in most corners of Singapore. I will try to feature more rainforest in my future post if only my legs are willing to walk...lol.

I do not think I want to get lost in the forest.

My Walking Trip - Part 6 - Forest Walk - Bridges

Today, I begin my post on forest walk. It is quite a long walk and very interesting. Oh you have to wear comfortable shoes to walk and no high heels otherwise your heels would be stuck in these holes as you walked.

Now one for the album for these university students.

All the bridges you see in this post, I really have to walk them all.

For those who want a shortcut, they can climb these staircases located at certain corner of the bridges but my friends and I decided to take the challenge and complete the walk on the bridges.

I like the photo below, it showed how far I am from the other side of the bridge because the girl in the centre look so small. We are actually taller than some trees.

Look at all the rich rainforest, sometimes monkeys found their way to the bridges but that day my friends and I did not encountered any monkeys except birds and squirrels.

And my walk is not complete yet, tomorrow I will show you the flora I saw along the walk.
