Orchard Central - Roof Garden -, The Stairs, The Clouds and The Sky Sculptures Part 1

On the 12th Floor of Orchard Central Roof Garden, there are several sculptures worth taking photos of.

Need to stand at different angle to take good photo shots of the sculptures and the sculptures can move when the wind blows. Very well done sculptures.

From this angle, the sculpture looked like missing a head. :)

Orchard Central Shopping Mall - Roof Top Garden - Flowers

After viewing the sculptures on the 11th floor of the roof garden of Orchard Central, we climb up the stairs to the 12th floor to view more.

Not many flowers in bloom but enough to attract visitors.

Saw many aquatic plants in the small pool on the roof top.

Pink Saturday - Orchard Central - Roof Garden

If you love arts, Orchard Central is for you.

Very surprised that the roof garden is so pretty with these cute sculptures.

It looked like a giant flower growing on the roof top.

This is the favourite with my little niece. She loves dogs.

The girl sculpture looked like she has pimples on her body..lol.

More photos on more sculptures on the roof top of Orchard Central coming soon in another post.

Skywatch Friday - Roof Garden of Orchard Central Shopping Mall

It is strange that whenever I shop, I never thought of going up the rooftop of the shopping mall to have a look. So this time round, I decided to visit the roof top of the mall. Orchard Central has a roof garden which is very beautiful and artistic.

Little niece taking photo of the long super escalator up the roof garden of Orchard Central.

Just follow the signs to the Roof Garden.

From the roof garden, I am able to view the surrounding buildings in Orchard Road.

Did not know there's a pool on the roof top of Orchard Point just opposite Orchard Central where I was standing.

Roof Top of Centrepoint, take note of the garden where the garden was, the word Centrepoint being landscaped.

For other sky watchers, please hop over to Skywatch blog

Please return to see more of the roof garden.

Cute Car

This car is so cute. It looked like it has a pair of eyes and a nose and mouth. This photo was taken last year at Orchard Central. Cannot remember why the car was on display there.

Orchard Central - WIndow Display

Oh I love the window display at Orchard Central at the basement but there are no window/glass here. They are in the open space at the basement.

I love looking at window display and when I was younger, I even toyed with the idea of being in this line. But somehow I ended up doing accounting, a very boring job.

But I did brighten my office during christmas and chinese new year. I would use christmas cards and pin them on the wall to make a shape of a christmas tree and my boss was surprised that I can be so creative...lol. Then another department of my office copycat my christmas tree decoration. I should "sue" them for copyright...hahaha

Sculpture

If you like arts and sculptures, Orchard Central is for you. Almost every floor, you can be fascinated by many sculptures. You can view my previous postings of the other sculptures in here. There are more sculptures and arts in Orchard Central, which I have not taken any photos yet.

Not sure what this sculpture is but it looked like a nut to me.

This flower pot looked just like the sculpture in the above photo.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

I am ending this year with this post on Christmas. I am going for a short christmas break (but will still be in a corner of Singapore). I am not sure if I can get hold of the internet and comments posted might take a while to be published and approved once I get hold of a computer.

So here's wishing all my readers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and may 2010 be a better year for all of us.

This is my favourite window display in Orchard Road. It belongs to Robinson at Centrepoint. I love shopping at Robinson cause they have a lot of varities and sales all year round. And the best part was their staffs are very friendly and knows their products well.

This year the tour bus for christmas is not free and I think tourists need to pay a fee. You can get tickets for the bus at the Visitor Centre in Orchard Road.
Orchard Central Mall is so beautiful at night and it seems to be dancing. I spend quite sometime looking at the beautiful building and listening to the music coming from it. The feeling on the street is just great.

Two short videos on the lights at Orchard Central Shopping Mall.
See you all in 2010.

Pink Saturday - Window Display

I am always impressed and fanscinated by window displays. They are really very attractive.
These window displays are found on the basement of Orchard Central, it looked more like an exhibition than window displays.

Worth going to look at the arts in Orchard Central Mall beside eating and shopping.

When I was there, the mall was operating till the 7th storey, I heard they have a total of 12 storeys where there are more arts on the roof top. One day, I will try to get a night photo of the mall, heard that they are very beautiful and pretty.

Skywatch Friday - Orchard Central Mall - Ride along the escalators

The one thing I like Orchard Central is their escalators. They have escalators facing the main road of Orchard Road - a shopping district.

I am going to ride the long escalators up, it looked quite scary but there's a glass panel protecting us so that we would not fall out while looking at the scenery.
This is the long escalator ride up. The escalator is the same one as the above photo.

Photo taken through the glass panel.

From the escalator, I could see rows and rows of shophouses opposite me. All the shophouses are protected and preserved.

Most of the building along Orchard Road are malls after malls. The whole Orchard Road is a shopping district with malls on both sides. Come christmas, the whole Orchard Road would be decorated with fairy lights and it will be very pretty.

A short video showing my ride up the escalator and my two friends are behind me giggling at me...lol
