Egg with embryo

Do you look at your egg before you send them to the frying pan? This is what I saw in my egg. There's an embryo so big that you can see its eyes. Poor chick did not get to fertilise. So is this the result of miscarriage?

You can see another photo on double yolk egg in my previous post.

Hahaha, yes Dong, it is very real.

Anya, I removed the embryo and use the egg for marinating my chicken wings. Same for the double yolk egg.

Hi Alice!
What you see when you start looking at an egg before frying it... Amazing... ;)
Wow, just remember my first trip to Singapore and how I sweat visiting the Sri Marriamman Temple... ;)
And the lovely trip to Sentosa. Great pictures!!

India 2008 is coming to its end at Blogtrotter. I know you’re getting a bit tired, but there are still some marvels to come ;). Look forward to reading your comments! Enjoy and have a great weekend!

I just came across this picture while looking for something else. This is not possible for this to be an embryo. If it were it would be about 7 days along and there would be huge veins running in a spider web formation across the top of the yolk. I can also see the germ cell on the yolk which is where a chick would have developed from. It more likely a "meat spot" which is just a piece of tissue from the reproductive track of the hen.
