Monitor lizard at Resort

I was relaxing and having fun at the National Service Resort and Country Club. Hubby and me had a shock when we saw something moving in the car park. From far, I thought it was a small alligator...hahaha

But it was a monitor lizard that was so fat and about 3 feet long. It came out of a drain hole from the side of the kerb. I was too afraid to go near to take a good shot of it. Not sure if it would attack me.

But I guess the monitor lizard was more fraid of human than we were of it. It quickly slittered back into the drain hole by the side of the kerb.

It's tail (circled in red) can still be seen at the side of the kerb. Wondered what other animals, like snakes, python, etc can emerged from the hole since the monitor lizard could squeeze itself out of the small hole.

Christmas Celebration

Ok, we dont have a christmas tree in the resort bungalow but we still make do by putting all the christmas presents together.

I like this cute present, it is actually a towel folded to look like a puppy.

Turkey

And lots of other food too besides the BBQ.

Getaway at Safra Resort at Changi

Continued from previous posting on my getaway to a corner of Singapore during christmas.

It is play, eat, sleep and more fun at the resort.

Using my new camera, I capture the swimming pool and the play pool.
We are so lucky that we get to cycle too because the weather was fine. No rain and no hot sun, a perfect day for cycling.

A short video of what I saw at the beach. The resort is quite near to the airport.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

A very happy new year to everyone. I have such a nice time being just lazy and away from the computer. I was away at a resort in a corner of Singapore, from christmas till end of the year...was so much fun and we did so much during these few days and I dont feel like coming home...lol
Have fun with my new camera using the panorama feature, i.e. to capture three photos in one large photo.

This is how the chalet looked like with all the bungalows in one photo.

The interior of the bungalow.

The golf course at the resort.

The bowling centre and there are also the swimming pool, karaoke, arcade, etc... I will feature our fun in later posts on kite flying, bbq, etc
I know christmas is over but could not resist posting this video of the cute snowman and look what is inside the gift box.

I hope these videos can keep you company while I am away on vaccation. :)

Below photo taken from Vivo City. The uncompleted Resort World viewed from Vivo City.

Took the following videos from the monorail train.

These short videos are the still uncompleted Resort World and Universal Studio Singapore. They will be open next year and I am looking foward to it.

I took these videos when I visited Sentosa last week. I have more photos of Sentosa but will post only after I come back from my vaccation.

My World Tuesday - Recreation

Singapore is known as a food and shopping paradise but besides shopping and eating, we do know how to relax...lol.

What kind of recreation do you like?

The kids and those who love swimming have these beautiful pools to be pampered in.

The bigger kids and adults simply love bowling. It is one of my favourite too. Hubby is good at it.

But most of all, I love to just relax in this swing in the resort.

During holidays, the whole family would rent these bungalows (behind the swing) to just relax and be away from the city.

You can view my previous post on how the bungalow looked like inside in here.

My World Tuesday - Downtown East - Part 5 (Final)

Holdiay makers having fun BBQ beside their chalets at Downtown East. The chalets can sleep four people in one unit. The chalets are fenced off and only those who rented the chalets can enter free while the others had to pay $1 to enter. But the place where I showcased during the last few posts of Downtown East are free as there are many restuarants, shops and recreation facilities opened to everyone.

I love the swimming pool within the chalet compound that has glass on one side of the pool.

It is so funny as if I was looking at fishes swimming in tanks. Just a short video to show you the swimmers.

Downtown East - Part 4 - Recreation

Going toward the resort/chalets from the E hub complex, we can come across several restaurants, food courts and some small shops.

It is a Saturday night and many Singaporeans do not normally cook on this day, so the entire family will come out and patronise eating outlets near their homes or in other parts of the city. I am one of them...lol.

I saw these beautiful chess sets in a window display.

They are in the form of soldiers and kings, so cute.

Mahjong set anyone?

What about chips and cards?

As there are several chalets near here, this shop sold mainly recreation items that holiday makers might need.

Downtown East - Part 3 - Recreation

The E hub building(behind the big ferris wheel) is a place for leisure and entertainment for the whole family. There's a resort beside this E hub which is very popular with the families and they would also make use of the recreation facilities in this building

Love the beautiful tunnel entrance of the bowling alley.
K box for karaoke lovers.

A big giant playground for the kids.

More fun coming in the next few posts on Downtown East.

Skywatch Friday-Downtown East - Part 1 - Ferris Wheel

My contribution for skywatch must be this beautiful ferris wheel at Downtown East in Pasir Ris. With the background of the night sky without any moon or stars but the colourful lights of the ferris wheel make the whole place so cheerful.
A short video of the ferris wheel in motion and the noisy vehicles whizzing by me.
The building behind the ferris wheel is E hub where there's a 24 hours cinema (with many smaller cinemas within the cinema), a bowling alley, children playground, etc. Beside the ferris wheel is a multi storey car park which is fully packed with cars and no more parking places for late comers.
Looked at the illuminated lights at the multi storey car park.
For other sky watchers, please hop over to Skywatch blog.
Please return to visit for more photos of Down Town East in my next few posts.

Who lived in this little shell?

Continued from yesterday post, who lived in the shell?

No matter how we tried to coax the mysterious creature out, it does not show itself. So my brother told us to place the shell back in the sea water on the rock and it would appear by itself.

True enough the little guy decided to come out, it was a hermit crab.....:) Watch the short video how it crawl away from the rock.

My niece and nephews were so excited by our find and of course I am also very excited...hehehe...did you see the kid in me?

For those who guess it is a snail, you could be tricked by the hermit crab cause the hermit crab always borrowed someone's shell when it outgrown its old "borrowed" shell. That shell on its back must be a borrowed shell from a snail....lol.

We decided to let it leave it alone and let the hermit crab returned to the sea.

Sea creatures at the beach

My post for my world tuesday is about our beaches. Although Singapore is a shopping and food paradise, we too have beautiful nature around our little island too. You can view these beautiful natures in sea creatures blog, butterflies in Singapore, flowers in Singapore, and many more beautiful blogs with beautiful places of Singapore.

These rocks can be slippery so we need to be careful when we step on top of them. There are many little sea creatures hidden in these rocks.

On closer look, we found many snails in them.

There is this huge sea shell that I picked and gave to my little niece for her sea shell collection but my nephew pointed that someone lives in the shell....lol

Just to keep you all in suspense, you need to return to find out who lived in there...lol

Please visit "That's my World" for other parts of the world.

Having fun at the beach

I love taking a stroll along the beach. This beach is just next to the Safra Bungalow Resort.

I now proclaimed this part of the beach to belongs to Alice....hehehe
Helping my little niece collecting these little sea shells.

We came across several such holes on the beach. I wondered who lives there. For more photos of the sea creatures, please visit tomorrow.

Safra Bungalow Resort - (Part 7 Walking, Jogging and Cycling Track)

This is a walking, jogging and cycling track just behind the bungalow resort.
The track is part of the connector. One part of the path is for people walking, jogging and running while the other part is for cycling and skating.

Just to show you how big the painted foot looked as compared with my seven year old niece.

By 2015, National Parks hopes to construct 200km of park connectors - to date, half of that has been built. More will be added beyond 2015. National Parks' eventual goal is to create a connector network linking up the whole of Singapore. We could cycle from changi to east coast, etc.

Map taken from National Park website.
Isn't this wonderful, to have friends cycling and skating side by side.
A short video showing how popular the connector is with both local and foreigners.
