The Substation

Continuing walking towards Peranakan Museum, I passed by The Substation which is just next door to Peranakan Museum. The Substation is a home for the Arts. I did not go in cause I was with my little niece who is so excited about going to Peranakan Museum.

Saw these rows of paper crane hanging outside The Substation.

Side view of the building which houses some restaurants beside the substation.

My World Tuesday - National Museum

I was on my way to the Peranakan Museum when I passed by the Singapore National Museum. Saw these scultpures that were sitting infront of the museum.

The sculptures were the works of Taiwanese artist Ju Ming. It was done in 1986. You can read or view more of his works in his official website

These displays infront of the museum looked like trumpets. The Domescape was by Butterpaper Designs, BusyBody and Lin Zihao (Singapore). I guess it worked like a telescope to view the museum.

It was part of the display for the June School holidays. You can read more about it in here.

The museum was undergoing some painting works when I was there. You can view more about the Singapore National Museum in my earlier posts.

Tanjong Pagar Railway Station - Huge Tree

Saw this huge tree at the car park beside the Tanjong Pagar Train Station. It had many branches that seems to be rooted to the ground. Look very unique and I guess be a very old tree. I hope they wont chop down this tree.

Tanjong Pagar Railway Station - Arches

My last post on the railway station. Spotted many arches in and around the station.

The designs on the arches are beautiful but no worry all these will be preserved and wont be demolished.

Skywatch Friday - Tanjong Pagar Railway Station - Train

There are many people on the train platform but majority are just shutterbugs to record a piece of history before the train relocated to Woodlands.

I was lucky to take a photo of the 1 pm train that was leaving towards Malaysia.

Close Up Shots of the railway tracks.

I guess all these tracks will be dismantled and recycled or sold as scraps.

A short video of the train leaving the station towards Malaysia.
