Kreta Ayer Food Centre

Kreta Ayer (meaning bullock cart in Malay) Food Centre was renovated and recently reopen to the public. This is the food centre where most old tenants are back selling the good and yummy food. The new place is airy and spacious and now have more tables and chairs for us to enjoy our food.

I like all those old names used for the hawker centre. Have never been to Kreta Ayer hawker centre. But a friend brought us to "Lau Pa Sa" Old Market Hawker Centre, which is near to biz centre. In Malaysia, the municipal tends to change all the old names to new. However, we the oldies continue to use the old names. May cause some confusions as the younger ones are not aware of those old names.

Very true JC. I guess we belong to the same generation...hehehe. I have very fond memories of the oldies food and places. The food nowadays dont taste just as nice as before, could be due to healthy lifestyles, less lard and more greens.

Hello Alice.

Just got back from another weekend trip in an island. I am really lost for words on how to properly express the awe I feel looking at your pictures. They are trully great and personal. And the fact that you enjoy doing it really showed on your captures.
Thanks for sharing your priced treasures.

Squirrel, you would love it but sorry no free sampling at the food centre...lol.
Lara and Zak, I share the same sentiments when I was there, too many good food but dont know what to choose.
Jim, food courts in Singapore are air contioned while the food centre are powered by strong fans only. They both have many stalls selling many different types of food.
Law, Thank you for your comment. I am glad you enjoyed these photos.
