Closer look at a $5 bill of Singapore, where you can see the famous tree.
The uniqueness of this tree is the long branch that grows out from the trunk almost touching the ground and we can actually sit or lie on it. I have fond memories of this tree where my siblings and I would climbed on this tree during our childhood and we had so much fun.
So precious is this heritage tree that it was protected against lightning damages. If you look closely you can view the lightning conductors.
Closer look at the hole in the trunk of the tree, we can actually put our head through the hole.

ReplyDeleteJust one word of caution. This is related to the $5 note photo you put up. Do check up if by Singapore law will you need to include the word "Specimen" across any reprinted notes. I'm not sure on that, just a suggestion.

Oh by the way, I didn't know that the tree was in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, and it is damaged by lightning. Thanks again for the information.
Alex, I am not sure if the tree is damaged by lightning but it is protected against lightning. May the tree live a long time. :)

Hi Alex, my eldest son has completed the Basic Military Training (BMT) and now in the new camp so today is family day and he brought us around the camp and his room and mom as usual will make sure to bring along some nice food and herbal drink for him. Sorry, I wont be revealing which camp. :)

ReplyDeleteI always encourage parents to be more patient and listen to what their son have to say when they are doing their NS (If possible). It can be a difficult time for them at times. Not to worry 2 years will pass in a flash. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the tip, I am always happy to find heritage trees. Have you seen the Tule tree in Mexico? If you google Tule Tree Mexico you can find pictures. It's rumoured to be the oldest tree in the world and is just mind bogglingly big!
