Skywatch Friday-Singapore Cruise Centre at Harbour Front

This is the cruise centre at Harbour Front. In a few years time they will shift to a new and bigger cruise centre at Marina South.

Noticed the cable cars moving above the big cruise ship, the cable cars are moving towards Sentosa Island. The photo looked so blue because I was inside the monorail train with blue glass window.

    Very cool! I could never get in one of those cable cars tho...I prefer to be on solid ground!

    Actually I find that the current cruise centre is at the perfect location. I guess they'll like it placed near the jetty at Marina South.

    Many, many years ago, a barge pulling an oil rig below these cable cars. The rig snagged on the cables & the cable cars plunged to the sea.

    That's a beautiful harbor. Why would they shift somewhere else? If this is a perfect location. Thanks for sharing

    Thanks all for the nice comments.

    Elaine and OB, the present location is very convenient as it is near the MRT station and a big shopping mall but they need to shift to a bigger location as ships are getting bigger and taller. If you noticed the cable cars on top, the present cruise centre is not suitable for the newer and taller ships.

    One year, I attended a Canadian alumini dinners in one of those Junks in the Singapore waters. As the junk went up and down with the tide, my stomach went up and down. I wasn't the only one. When I went to the rest room, the floor was contaminated by food from people who couldn't made it in time.

    I didn't meet anyone from my university, so I never went to another again.
