This is a very famous gazebo in Singapore Botanic Garden. It was there even before I was born. It used to be a bandstand too. It was built in the early 1860s and staged many performances by military bands for many years. Although it is no longer used as a bandstand, this gazebo is still very attractive to visitors and photographers. You can read more from the Singapore Botanic Garden's website. I am trying to find the old B&W photo of me in the gazebo during my childhood...lol.
I did a sketch of the gazebo and no I did not do it free hand...lol. I used a software to sketch out from the original photo. It looked so good.

The sketch is very good indeed, yes, I know from the computer, but still very nice to look at, Singapore botanic garden is beautiful.
I hope you find the photo of you Alice..It would be fun to see. I wanted to say that the photo memes like my Nature Notes or the one that Jan started called 'Straight Out of The Camera' are just for fun photos and you don't have to have a fancy camera or be an expert....Michelle
Kitem, Singapore Botanic Gardens will be bring the garden nearer to people working in the city. Look out for the new garden by the bay at Marina. We could see tulips, etc growing in the special garden. You can view the website. http://www.gardensbythebay.org.sg/index.php?p=section&sub=article&articlegrppk=31
Michelle, I do hope I can find the photo too. I will look forward to the new meme. :)
Nice...I should be there one day.
I lived in Singapore for 16 years, the Botanical garden is one of my fav places, if only it isn't so hot and humid. Like the Shell concerts.
This gazebo, my dad after the war went to Singapore, and had a photo ther.
M kate, hope you get to go there one day. You are just few hours from me. :)
Ann, very interesting to know your dad had a photo there.
The Gazebo is lovely...and the drawing is good...the software must be fun to use! Thanks for coming by to see me..do come back!!
I think every park should have a gazebo; it adds romance to the place.
perfect for a relaxing weekend. i can sleep there the whole day. believe me.
Good idea, the sketch-- it looks like you could make postcards-- just add some color and type.
