Tiny butterfly




This little guy decided to make my home his home...lol. BTW anyone know what this is. I am not familar with the names of insects. It looked like a tiny butterfly.

    But the spots on it really look beautiful. Hope it doesn't sting!!

  4. It looks beautiful and pretty big in the picture. I don't know its name, hope it flew away because his home is mother Nature, he will feel better outside.

  5. It was rather small and about size of our ten cents coin. I should have put the coin beside it to show you the size. It looked big because I zoom on it.

    I try to make it fly away by blowing on it but it refuses to move...lol.

    So I guided it on a piece of paper and placed it near the window and finally it flew away.

    It's not a butterfly, but rather a little moth native to S'pore called Amata huebneri (synonym: Syntomis huebneri (Day-flying Moth, Wasp Moth). Photo1, Photo2

    It is one of the few moths that come out in the daytime, & as you have observed, it is not as jittery as butterflies tend to be. Another moth clue: its wings are spread when it is in the resting position. Butterflies fold up their wings when they assume the resting position.
