The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum (Singapore) (BTRTS) was founded in 2002 by Venerable Shi Fa Zhao. The Temple will be dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha, which means 'The Compassionate One', and also called 'The Future Buddha'.
The temple was built in the heart of Chinatown and houses some museums. More than 60,000 donors have given the temple $45 million and 270kg of gold. The gold was later melted and rebuilt into a 3.6m-high stupa to house the tooth relic.

ReplyDeleteI would love to see this place! Gorgeous shots, Alice G.
ReplyDeletetwo equally stunning views alice and it perfectly matched my two kids post in my blog.
ReplyDeletemy dad was the strict one and my mom was the cool one. a nice balance in order not to spoil us and get us to what we (their kids) are now. i love them.
Thanks for the nice comments.
ReplyDeleteLaw, it is opposite in my family..lol. My husband is always like Santa Claus getting gifts for sons after he returned from his business trip to make up for the time loss on spending with them while I am the educator to my son so I was seen as strict...lol
But gone are the times, they have grown up and independent and they make their own choices and they are both very filial sons.

ReplyDeleteHi Alice, I love the night shot of this temple. Any chance of seeing the gold stupa. Wow, 270kg of gold into making it! That's not much for a stupa but for a person, that's heavy metal!
