In Memoriam - Lee Kuan Yew Exhibition at Singapore National Museum

Was at the Singapore National Museum to view the exhibition of Memorial to Lee Kuan Yew.

This memorial exhibition will be on till end of June and after that the exhibits will be placed in another permanent place in the museum.

This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Watch 1953 was presented to Lee Kuan Yew by the Singapore Union of Postal and Telecommunictions Workers when he had successfully represented the union in an arbitration over a wage dispute. Eventually, nearly 1,000 clerks received 28 months' back pay.

Lee Kuan Yew sending a telegram back home to his family informing them he was arriving Singapore and the battleship was really meant to have steam boat (a kind of hot pot) dinner.

This glass master plate was used for printing leaflets for Lee Kuan Yew's campaign during the 1955 General Elections.

Moon, Venus and Jupiter?

Was looking at the sky, was wondering why the stars were so bright but not twinkling. Realised one of the star could be Venus. Did some googling and realised tonight is the chance to see Venus and Jupiter in their brightest. I am convinced the brightest star is Venus but not sure about Jupiter or is it a star.

Managed to hold my camera steadily and zoom 20 times to view Venus, wow I managed to capture it on camera.

Skywatch Friday - Cloud that looked like a whale

Night is falling and there's lots of dark clouds but one of them caught my eye. I thought it looked like a huge whale in the blue sea. Do you see same as me?

Blood Moon Eclipse viewed in Singapore on 4th April 2015

Managed to capture the Blood Moon Eclipse tonight, wow was awesome. Took the photo around 8.50 pm, did not manage to take earlier cause it was raining but soon the rain stop and the clouds clear and saw this beautiful sight.

A video on the eclipse of the moon, sorry if the moon seems to be moving but did not have tripod stand with me when I took this video, a little eerie cause of the dark clouds threatening to cover the whole moon.

Althought is not Friday over here, I would like to post this in Skywatch Friday.

This is my contribution to sky watching. For other sky watchers, please hop over to Skywatch Blog

Revolution Travel Fair 2015 at Marina Bay Sands

The Revolution Travel Fair 2015 held at Marina Bay Sands Singapore, is organized by 24 travel agencies, including the travel industry’s Big Four – Chan Brothers Travel, CTC Travel, SA Tours, and Dynasty Travel. This brand new travel fair is to rival the well known NATAS Travel Fair, and is to be held on 3 – 5 April 2015 (postponed from the initial plan of 27 – 29 March 2015).

This travel fair looks better than the NATAS Fair that I posted in earlier post.

Best of all both fairs are free admission. NATAS used to charge admission fees at few dollars per person. Come on, we ain't going alone, it can be costly if we attend the fair in a family of four or more.

I have been attending such travel fair since decades ago when the fair started and it used to be free admission. The reason for such fair is for the convenience of both travel agents and consumers, so we can get information and compare prices under one roof, and decided which travel agents gives the best price for the tours we wanted to go, and also to get information from different tourism boards all under one roof too.

The crowd definitely looks bigger. I managed to get the information that I needed.

Wow the Thailand booth looks beautiful with its decorations.

Saw this advertisement for Tokyo, the price looks very attractive.

No, I did not book this tour, but I am going Japan in a couple of months, is a DIY tour.
