Mini Park

I am going away again over the weekend but I dont need a passport with me...lol. Will only be in a corner of Singapore , far from the city life , just to relax (hopefully) in a beautiful resort.

This is a mini park beside my brother's flat. It can be used for multiple purposes. The mini park itself had a amphitheatre, fitness corner, children playground, jogging path, BBQ facilities, etc.

The big green field can be used for playing soccer or holding any activities. In these photos, you could see the workers putting up scaffolding for a chinese festival. The bigger rectangle platform is for prayers and dining areas while the small squarish platform will be for chinese concert.

Below are two short video showing the activities in the park.

Take a closer look in the mini park, you could see people jogging and exercising.

Merlion from boat view

This is the famous Merlion. I took many photos of the Merlion previously but were taken from land. These two photos of the Merlion were taken from a boat. You could see my other photos of the Merlion in here.

The Merlion was first designed as an emblem for the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in 1964 – the lion head with a fish body resting on a crest of waves quickly became Singapore’s icon to the rest of the world. The fish tail of the Merlion symbolises the ancient city of Temasek (meaning “sea” in Javanese) by which Singapore was known before the Prince named it “Singapura” (meaning “lion” (singa) “city” (pura) in Sanskrit), and represents Singapore’s humble beginnings as a fishing village. Plants

Took these photos at my brother's balconey. The cactus looked so cute, like a husband and wife plants.

Not sure what plant is this.

Prayer Food

Yesterday was my mom's 13th death anniversary. So the entire family (siblings and families) went to my brother's house for the prayers (Mom's tablet was kept in brother's house while the ashes were kept in temple). It was also a time where the entire family get the chance to get together.

As brother was taoism (so was my late mom), we offered cooked food and burned incense papers to my late mom.

Before prayers, it was all so messy in my brother's kitchen....lol. The above chicken was to be steamed.

All these chicken parts were used to cook curry chicken.

This is rice vermicelli that needed to be soaked in water before cooking.

Look at all these mess....lol

Glad most of the cooking done by my eldest sister and brother's wife....lol I contributed by purchasing the cooked roast duck and roast pork while 2nd sister and youngest sister offered some money to brother. And eldest sister contributed some of the cooking ingredients and food and the cooking.
So after praying, it was our turn to tuck into the food. And we stay the entire day chatting and playing cards to pass the time. And soon it was dinner and eldest sister and sister in law cooked some extra dishes in addition to the leftover from lunch. Thanks sis and sister in law for all the cooking. :) And oh thanks to second sis for washing up...hahaha. Not that I am lazy, I hurt my back.....good excuse. :)
