Hort Park - Pledge to Go Green

I am back to blogging but need time to retun back to my normal blogging and blog visiting...lol. Will be very busy these two months with so many programmes and celebrations going on.

Visited the Hort Park during the weekend for the Clean and Green Singapore 2010. It is so much fun and I took the green pledge today towards a cleaner and greener Singapore.

We had our little thumbs painted with either green or yellow to take the pledge and the patterns of our thumbprints looked like a tree.

I took a short video of this lady who also took the pledge.
It is so educating and fun and I have lots of photos coming up and my favourite are the flowers that I saw in Hort Park and having fun with my little niece. I am so glad she share my interests in taking photos of flowers.

Skywatch Friday - School of Arts

This building is so huge and still under construction.

It is the School of Arts. The School of the Arts is Singapore's specialized independent pre-tertiary arts school. It was initiated by Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts, and caters to youths who have talent and capability in the arts. Its new campus is currently being built in the Arts and heritage district of Singapore. You can read more from source.
Closer look at the building.

My World Tuesday - Studying in the Airport

Continued from yesterday's post.

Besides famous for its food at Changi Airport, it is also well liked by students and retirees and those who love watching planes.

The above photo is the viewing gallery of Terminal 3 of Changi Aiport. You can view the plane landing and taking off here but Terminal 2 has better view of the planes.

Last weekend, I saw a group of students (circled) studying at a corner of the viewing gallery. This is the exam period and students love coming here cause it is so spacious and quiet and nice air conditioning too. I wondered how they can studied in this manner...lol. I rather locked myself in my own bedroom and studied by myself. I guess everyone has different way of studying.

My son studied with earphones in his ears, laptop in front of him and the books/notes on the desk....lol. He said this is multi-tasking.
Some retirees has no where to go, so they come here to watch the planes. Even hubby and me came to watch the planes after our lunch at the airport. :)
To view the beautiful airport, you can see my previous posting in here.

Changi Airport Terminal 3

Why do Singaporeans love going to the airport?

Changi Airport won so many awards for being the most beautiful and best airport in the world. We have three terminals, Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 and one budget airport all in Changi.

I love going to Terminal 3 being the latest and bigger terminal. The terminal is spacious and hubby and me went there last weekend just to have our lunch...lol.
Visit tomorrow to see how Singaporeans spend their day in Changi Airport. :)

Recycle Bins

Saw these recycle bins at Terminal 3 Changi Airport. The message is so clear, the bottle is for plastic, the can is for can/metal and the paper is for papers.

Quiet Street

Hidden in a corner of Singapore is one these quiet streets in Changi.

It was so dark that I could only see the street lights.

A very short video of the quiet street, I was so afraid that I might see something extraordinary...lol

My World Tuesday - Recreation

Singapore is known as a food and shopping paradise but besides shopping and eating, we do know how to relax...lol.

What kind of recreation do you like?

The kids and those who love swimming have these beautiful pools to be pampered in.

The bigger kids and adults simply love bowling. It is one of my favourite too. Hubby is good at it.

But most of all, I love to just relax in this swing in the resort.

During holidays, the whole family would rent these bungalows (behind the swing) to just relax and be away from the city.

You can view my previous post on how the bungalow looked like inside in here.

What's happening in Chinatown?

What's all the commotion? The road in front of People's Park Complex in Chinatown, Singapore was closed and everyone waiting for some kind of parade or performance but nothing happen.

Glad hubby and me, smart enough to just go for our dinner and not wait for it to happen. True enough, nothing happen...lol. Road closed for about 1 hour (i think) then reopen...hahaha. So people who crossed to the middle of the road had problem crossing back when the road reopen.

I think the performance/lantern carrying was cancelled due to the rain??? No idea really.
